~The Shopping Cart~
A brand new day is drawing near,
The time has come to face my fear.
I am a mistreated shopping cart,
In the hands of others, without a heart.
Through hail, snow, wind and rain,
My nuts and bolts soon felt the strain.
I was once a cart, so shiny and new,
To make life worse, my wheels squeak too.
If this is to be my destiny,
The time has come, for me to flee.
Days were long, the nights so cold,
On and on my wheels rolled.
Soon I came upon a place,
I could rest and slow my pace.
An Alley-Way so dark and dreary,
There I slept, I felt so weary.
In the darkest shadows of the night,
I awoke amidst a terrible fight.
Alley-Cats were everywhere,
Their eyes reflect the brightest glare.
I'd never felt such fear before,
My nuts and bolts shook even more.
I have yet to find, just what I seek,
Life as I know it, indeed was bleak.
A homeless woman in tattered rags,
Stood before me with many bags.
In those bags, were treasures so true,
I knew then, what I had to do.
Rolling silently without a squeak,
I found the friendship, I did seek.
She lowered her bags inside of me,
I finally know, my destiny.
Together, we left in the morning sun,
Ready to start our new life as one~
