I've almost gone over the edge a couple times, but those were on a coastal lookout tower atop Devil's Slide south of San Francisco, with howling winds and sheer dropoffs to wave-pounded rocks below. Lost a tent there once, whoosh. We just missed going over the edge ourselves. (Different selves each time.) It's exhilarating. But I think that tower is gone now so it's an irreproducible event.
