Have any other authors dreamt of their protagonist?

Last night, for the first time, I dreamt that I was cuddling with my story's female character. I have to say it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It felt so real; there was momentary sleepyheaded confusion and disappointment when I woke up. After a few seconds the realization hit me and I felt the sweet warmth you get from any pleasant dream.

I hope it happens again!

Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe I’m on the verge of a psychotic episode! I’ll let you know if she starts talking in my head while I’m awake. ;)

Hmmm ... interesting. I had to think!

I would say, never for me. My sex fantasies are far more vivid and enjoyable when I'm awake, although a few wet dreams, on occasion, have helped with some ideas for a story or two.

Nightmares

I certaily hope I never dream about any of DurtGurl's protagonists. Cringe

Yes, that would be worse than a slasher-Elm Street-night-of-the-living-dead dream. Now that you've put this in writing for everyone (e.g., me) to read I'm sure I'll have a DG nightmare tonight. Or maybe Oggs muses will be kind and just throw hippo dung around my sub-consious.

Otherwise, I don't dream about my characters, I prophesize them; i.e., I write them up for Lit.
