Katherine Owens
Age 22
Io's friend

Katherine Owens has known Io Hayama since they were children. They often spent time together, reading and playing make believe. Katherine has decided to take this trip to Io's new home, and see him safely settled in. She worries about her friendship and the distance they will be once she returns home.

Katherine enjoys the freedom to go off on a whim, and sees this as another adventure in her all ready full life. She is 5'9“ and very attractive. Her eyes are brown and her hair red. She can usually be found painting or enjoying a good book. Katherine also enjoys playing the piano. She has always thought of Io as a friend, and nothing more, because she values his friendship so much, she would never wish to cross the boundries between friend and lover

We can start.

3 days after his father's funeral, Io was already on my way to live in his mansion. He was never on good terms with his father, as his father was against Io's writing career. Even without the fortune his father left him, Io was still set for life with the money he has earned with his first best seller. Next to him in the limo was Katherine, his childhood friend. It was nice of her to come along, he thought. "You know Kate," He began to say. "You didn't really need to do this. I'll be alright here."

The limo stopped in front of the immense mansion, and Io got out. Io looked at the old building, and got a shiver. It had an eerie feel. Io grabbed his luggage, and walked in. "Hello?" Io yelled, wondering if the staff was already here. His voice echoed in the mansion

Katherine looked at the gloomy looking mansion, "Io, where else would I rather have been?" She gazed out the tinted window of the limo, and looked back, "Kinda creepy, don't ya think?"

Kate had not really wanted to stay at home. The next several months were going to be like an adventure. Her parents were jet setting it across the country, and she had not wanted to spend another few months visiting mom and dad's old friends. Coming here with Io, had been the most obvious choice.

Stepping from the Limo, she watched the driver get their bags, and her eyes looked at the looming mansion. "Well, guess we should go say Hi." The two friends walked inside, and the echo from Io's "Hello" came back to them.

"You did hire a staff didn't you?" She looked around, the place looked clean, but also empty.

Salene had spent the better part of the last three days cleaning the mansion from top to bottom. With the help of her assistant they had gotten all the dust and the cobwebs off of everything. But something was rather strange to her. The house made her feel...different then the small cottage they had lived in on the grounds. Shaking her head she heard a voice ask hello?

She moved quickly from the kitchen to arrive at the front door to see a man and woman, "Welcome Master Io and Mistress Kathrine, we have been waiting for you, I am Salene the head maid, I am here to make your stay as relaxing as possible, May I take your coats?" she asked sweetly holding out her arms to them.

OOC: One quick question, in the morning... after the "wierd things" happen. Do the characters remember? or do they just realize something is odd about them?? May be nice to think they haven't a clue why they keep ending up in the strangest places and either naked or smelling of sex with another person beside them.

OOC: It sounds like a good idea. I think we'll go with them not remembering.

IC:

Io looked back at Katherine. "Of course. Besides, being alone here would be kinda boring, wouldn't it?" He said, smiling. Soon, Salene came down. "Hello, Salene." Io removed his coat and handed it to her. "Thank you." He took a few more steps into the house, and gave a sigh. "Kinda smells like my father."

Enter Cook

<ooc: i pm'd about being cook - so here goes>

Name: Marcus
Age: 24

Marcus had been employed as chef of the house but had taken a brief walk in the garden. He entered again through the back door just as the maid bustled through the kitchen and went to greet the new arrivals. He smiled..it must be IO and whoever else was coming with him to stay. He stood at about 5ft 11 with short dark hair and blue eyes, a well toned and obviously kept trimmed body. He walked to the entrance just as IO and Salene were stepping inside.
"Top of the morning to you." He offered.

Katherine chuckled, "Yes, it does smell like him, I hope we can change that. I never was found of his cigars." She wrinkled her nose and looked around. She noticed the maid, that Io had called Salene, assuming the home looked so clean because of this woman's hard work.

She looked to be around Io and her age perhaps younger, she was curious as to how one so young had gotten such an obvious well paid position. Running this mansion was going to be alot of work. For now it would be simple only she and Io were going to be living there on a permanent basis, as well as the staff, but still, all the dusting and polishing would take hours.

Kate smiled over at the young woman and introduced herself, "Hello Salene, it's a pleasure to meet you." She then noticed another figure walking towards them. He welcomed them quite merrily and she smiled back at him also.

"Well, Io my friend, it looks like you'll have a friendly staff, if nothing else. And by the looks of them both, I'd say you hired well. Now if they only knew you like I do, then they'd be running out the door."

Io smiled at the man who walked in. "I assume you're Marcus. Good to meet you." He looked back and forth between Marcus and Salene. Io wasn't used to be waited on.

"Well, Io my friend, it looks like you'll have a friendly staff, if nothing else. And by the looks of them both, I'd say you hired well. Now if they only knew you like I do, then they'd be running out the door."

"Is that so?" Io asked, as he turned to face Katherine. "You never ran. In fact..." He began to say, folding both his arms. "You were the only person who stuck around me for so long. I can't be that bad if you decided to do that, can I?"

Finally, picking up his bags, he smiled at Katherine. "Well Kate, shall we go pick out our rooms?" He smirked.

Chuckling, "Yes, I stuck around," Kate grinned. Picking up her bags, she looked to Io.
"You know, I'll want the one with either the biggest bathroom, or the biggest bed."

She winked, "I'm going to look for a boyfriend while I'm here, since I never could get you to fall at my feet and worship me."

Heading towards the stairs, she looked back at Marcus and Salene, "It was a pleasure meeting you both, and I look forward to getting to know you both better." Nodding her head toward Io, "He's not all that bad. Quite the catch if some lucky gal could land him."

She trotted upstairs, staring at the family portraits, "This is one strange place," she muttered, feeling as if the eyes were watching her.

"You know, I'll want the one with either the biggest bathroom, or the biggest bed."
"Well, that's a shame for you. As I'll be taking them both!" Io said, playfully. Io already ran up while Katherine was talking to Salene and Marcus. He stopped at the second floor's hallway.

He walked through with Katherine, making not of each portrait and picture. "Notice that neither me or my mom are in these. Only my old man, and a bunch of people I've never even see." Io sighed, letting the memories of his father anger him, as the real thing did so many times. "Damn you old man." Io whispered to himself.

Touching Io's shoulder, Katherine squeezed it gently. "I know love, but this is your place now, and you get to make it into whatever you wish. Perhaps a very nice auction, you could get quite a bit of profit for these ancient phonies." She touched his cheek, "I wish he had known you the way I know you, he would have seen something that others have seen."

She pulled her hand away, the flutter in her stomach turned faster. Katherine shook off the feeling, and she moved down the hall. She felt the heat of her skin, and took a deep breath before looking back, at her friend. They had never crossed that line, though in her dreams she had. She would never put their friendship on the line, he always seemed to need her, so she knew she always needed to be free of that one emotion that would tear her heart to pieces if things didn't work out for them.

Katherine saw him following, so she started opening doors, searching for her perfect room. "Oh Io, this one is mine." She walked in and saw the large four poster bed, drapped in a white canopy, the lace was delicate and looked as if it would fall away with the slightest touch.

Portraits of flowers hung along one wall, and a beautiful ocean scene was painted along one wall, the mural seemed to come alive. Katherine would have sworn she felt the ocean breeze and heard the sounds of the seaguls that were floating in the air.

"Yes, this my dear is all mine," she plopped down on the bed, placed her hands behind her head and grinned at her best friend. "Don't I just fit in so well?"

Io blushed when she placed her hand on his cheek. But she ended up walking away. He's dreamt so many times of being with her, but she was probably interested in him. He walked ahead to catch up with his best friend, and she found her room. "Dang, you called it before I got a chance." He said, laughing to himself. "I'll go find my room, then." Io said, before walking down the hall. He opened the door and found himself in the master bed room. The room was compeltly white. Io felt he walked into heaven... Besides the smell and the paintings. He set down the bags, and took off the paintings, throwing them aside.

Salene had smiled and nodded to the new guests. Soon following after she had hung up their coats. She walked up the stairs and enter the bedroom behing Io, "I hope everything is at your liking master, what time will you and the lady be dinning this evening?" she said smiling warmly at him.

"Umm... Let's see." Io took a look at his watch. "By the time we're finished unpacking, and putting all these paintings in once place..." He began to calculate the time in his head. "I'd say 8, Salene. Thank you."

Katherine moved from her bed, and over to her bags. She lifted each one up and placed them where she had been sitting. Unzipping it she looked down at the picture of her and Io. A vacation in the Alps that had shown signs of something more, but one of them, probably her, had backed away.

She ran her fingers over the silver frame and placed it beside her bed. Unpacking her clothes, and her favorite shoes, she found places for each item. The dresser was large and would house more clothes then she had brought, so the need to feel it would of course mean several shopping trips into the town.

Looking around she noticed a cemetary in the distance. She went to find Io, and noticed Salene coming from his room. "Hello again, I meant to ask how long you have been a maid, and how many others work under you?"

Salene smiled at Kathrine as she walked in, "Ive been a maid now for about two years Mistress, My mother was once the head maid of this house and when she died I took over her role, there is another girl on my staff and the cook ma'am," she said simply, "Would you be needing any help unpacking? ANy help at all?" she asked either of them

Katherine smiled, "No, I can't think of anything just yet. Well perhaps a few things, please fill free to call me Kat, or Kate or if you feel you must remain proper then Katherine. To me I see me only as those things, to be Mistress, then I'm either, his wife," nodding to Io's room, "or I'm his mistress."

She chuckled and whispered, jokingly, "and unfortanely for me I'm not either." Katherine winked and smiled.

She looked down the halls, "What time is dinner? I noticed a cemetary outside and wanted to explore. Is it part of the property?"

Io set the labtop in the corner of the room to recharge. It was gonna be on for a while if Io found the right inspiration for a new book. He unpacked his things finding place within the large wardrobe. Although there was too much empty space, he knew being with Katherine, they'd go fill them out soon enough.

He walked out of the room and spotted Katherine and Salene. "Salene, would there be an attic here?" He asked, planning to put all the useless paintings of his father and friends there.

Katherine turned and saw Io, and she too, found herself curious over the idea of exploring an attic.

"Oh, I bet they do, and I bet Salene knows exactly where it is."

She looked back toward her room, "I was just asking her if the cemetary that is a bit off in the distance is part of the property. If it was I thought I'd explore it, but an attic sounds fun also."

Looking over the entire structure of this place sounded more interesting, and she was curious as to all the things she could find. "You know this place is so large, and old, and full of history, I bet it even has secret passages. Now that would be an adventure!"

Salene smiled at both of them, "It does have an attic, the cemetary is part of the property, dinner is at 8 and yes there are hidden passages..." she answered all in one breath.

"I could easily give you a tour after dinner if you like..." Salene offered with a warm smile.
