Thank you for backing me on this one Risia. Yes, we go through our growing pains here. The board is getting more and more people and that means that we are all going to agree less and less. But can't we just learn to accept that we all have different opinions and we all say stupid things. This is something that happens on every board. We just have to roll with the punches and make life go on.

Part of being an adult is learning to accept differences. Yes, I have had people confront me on this board. I don't back down but I state the facts and my opinions as nicely as I can and I'm done with it.

Self Destruction

I don't know how many groups I've seen self-destruct. Everyone loses because both sides take the attitude of if you ain't with me you are against me. You can't enter a group without pissing someone off somehow. Maybe it's because the written word can sound much harsher than was intended.

For me the trick is remembering the only power that someone has over me is what I choose to give them. People may attack me but if I refuse to join in the attacker begins to look foolish and paranoid.

Absolutely, and well said. Especially in this forum, one has ulitmate control over what trips ones trigger and what shoots one in the foot.
What you will allow to hurt you and what you choose to shine on is completely at your fingertips.
It takes control to refuse to respond. I respect those who can do that. But we need to remember that we all react differently when we feel attacked, harrassed and belittled.
It disturbs me a little that some of the Doms here feel mistreated. In order to be respected as a sub and the subtle power that a sub wields, she must be respectful of the Dom who allows her to grow and appropriately use that power. I am certain there is not a Dom here who I won't learn something from (uh oh a double negative and a grammatical no-no) and because of that, I cannot envision a time I will not treat them (oh my god, another one) with respect.

You are free to post as you wish on this board, but in the interest of clarity, there is no D/s protocol in effect here, and submissives are under no obligation to treat dominants with any more deference than they would other subs, switches, vanilla visitors, or any one else. Ideally, he will all treat each other with respect.

Ideally, he will all treat each other with respect.

My apologies for not being clear, Mr. Blandings. I was specifically talking about how those who call themselves Doms here, have stated they feel at being mistreated. I intend to treat everyone, but specifically Doms because that was the group I was discussing, with respect.
I am sorry if I have not posted with proper etiquette. I will attempt to do better in the future. I am sure there is a lot I will learn and be taught before it's all over.

There is no need for you to apologize, or change your way of posting, you are doing just fine.
I merely wanted to make clear the point I spoke to.
I am sorry that some people feel they are mistreated here, but I have to keep the record straight and point out that there have been just as many or more complaints of being disrespected by submissives as there have been by dominants. Hopefully, we can acheive a situation where everyone feels respected.

There appear to be a wide range of opinions on this, as far as I can tell....

1. Lance did all of it to everyone and has completely ruined everything;

2. Lance did most of it;

3. What Lance didn't do, he orchestrated;

4. Lance did some of it;

You know what? You're no better than the "shiny happy people" if you expect to find absolutely NO conflict on a board as large as this one.

Oh, and cym wasn't "chased away", she chose to leave because she had to put on the drama queen hat and instead of just slapping Lance on ignore and calling it a day, she had to announce the whole deal and rehash it in it's own brand new thread. She flew off the handle every pleasant Tuesday and then couldn't deal with the fallout.

Don't get me wrong, I thought, and still think, she's very knowledgable and contributed a lot to the board, and I DID respect her until she started behaving like a bratty teenager.

So MzChrista, if you want to go, go...but at least make sure your reasons are what you think they are.

Agreed on the door slapping, I guess. Truth is I'm not happy to see anyone leave under a cloud of harshness.

I edit posts for fun...and to delete things I sometimes say in response to repeated smacks to my fragile widdle feewings. Again, I prefer not to create harshness, but to promote/provoke cogent discussion....so discovering I could edit my posts has been a godsend.

May I say that it does not really matter, does it, if you or your opinions are liked or not? I have read opinions here that I do not agree with or that I have found painful and, on occassion down right mean. Well, so be it.
I have also read opinions that have been warm, touching and extremely funny. I have been able to decipher from a few, which of you I could be friends with and those I would choose only to 'wave to'.
Many times, we misinterpret and misunderstand someone's meaning. But I think there is an underlying spirit in the words we type here and if we can take the time to see what that is, maybe there would be less descension. If I don't agree or find a posters words painful or mean, I just go on to the next read. There is always something to be learned.
