Has Trump corrupted the Supreme Court ?

It's nothing new. FDR tried to pack the court to his advantage, and the importance of the power to appoint Supreme Court justices goes back to Jefferson's time.

If it doesn't happen, the United States truly is terminally sick.

I don't think anyone has projected that the democrats could retake the Senate in November.

The Scrotes need a revamp. Take appoi9ntments out of the hands of One. End the lifetime appointment bit for ALL Federal Judges.

End all partisan affiliations for Judges. They must be sworn off all parties and show devotion to the general best will of the public at large over any special interest positions.

The Scrotes in particular must swear off any religious affiliations. The Hobby Lobby scandal alone is grounds to impeach those that voted for it.

Hope for a Blue Wave in the Senate in November.

They're going to rush the nominee in before then because they know the're going to lose the midterms.

The dems may get some seats back, but the GOP will get to ban abortion, make birth control almost impossible to get and ban any law that keeps gays from running 'back into the closet where they belong'

Thanks to people like you.

You forgot 'make 2A conceal carry universally acceptable from state to state in all 50 states, with no state or city restrictions'

All the current polls predict continued Republican control...

There are 7 seats being called 'contested'

Republicans:
42 seats not up for election
3 seats 'safe'
3 seats 'likely'
1 seat leans R

Democrats:
23 seats not up for election
14 seats 'safe'
4 seats 'likely'
3 seats leaning D

That's 49 R vs 44 D..... so R's need to get one of the seven contested seats to keep the Senate, D's need to take all 7 contested seats to change control

If you are referring to the appointments to SCOTUS, they are not done by one person. The president nominates somebody and the Senate, all 100 of the members, vote either aye or nay. Usually, they vote aye, but not always.

But the republicans will all vote for whoever Trump appoints (It could be fucking Charles Manson or something and they'd all go we stand with Trump). This is because the can not look like they're not supporting Trump's agenda to Republican voters before the midterms or else they really will get massacred by their own constituents.

Memories of what happened to Sandford will be haunting their dreams.

And even some democrats will vote his pick in because they are literally that incompetent at being the opposition party.

Poll: Nearly 70 Percent of Voters Don’t Want Roe v. Wade Overturned

Depending on whom you believe, Anthony Kennedy’s retirement either means that Roe v. Wade will definitely be overturned — or else that it will probably be overturned (but definitely chipped away at).

Regardless, one thing is certain: If the Supreme Court’s new conservative majority takes the right to reproductive autonomy away from the American (female) people, the vast majority of the U.S. electorate will be displeased. A new poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation finds that 67 percent of voters do not want Roe v. Wade overturned. Opposition is overwhelming among Democrats and independents. But, in another sign that the congressional Republicans do not actually represent the consensus views of their constituents, some 43 percent of GOP voters want Roe upheld (the percentage of Republican Congress members who’d be willing to espouse that position in public is in the single digits).

Will Trump use Roe v Wade to rally his base during the conformation hearings? Might be Dickish enough for Donald.

Justice Anthony Kennedy

The New York Times reports, the 81-year-old’s announcement was the culmination of a carefully orchestrated 17-month campaign by the Trump administration to remake the Supreme Court before the 2018 midterms, when there is an outside chance that Republicans could lose their majority.

Private conversations with Trump's closest advisor- his daughter

Ivanka Trump reportedly took Kennedy to lunch shortly after the inauguration and brought her daughter Arabella Kushner to the Supreme Court to hear oral arguments as special guest of Kennedy.

What persuaded Justice Kennedy to exit the Supreme Court ? The judges nominated to fill his empty seat.

Brett Kavanaugh and Raymond Kethledge, both of whom clerked for Kennedy as well. In the meantime, Trump nominated three other former Kennedy clerks to federal appeals courts. And intermediaries told Kennedy that the architect of Trump’s successful push to appoint more conservative judges nationwide, White House Counsel Don McGahn, probably won’t be around after the midterms, which could complicate the next Supreme Court confirmation process.

Kennedy personally informed Trump that he was stepping down during a Wednesday visit to the White House. The pair have had warm personal interactions, in part because the justice’s son, Justin, knows Donald Trump Jr. through New York real estate circles.

The justice, who was the subject of retirement rumors last year, served in his final term alongside Gorsuch, his former law clerk.

Did Anthony Kennedy’s son loan Donald Trump $1 billion?

Deutsche Bank loaned Trump over $1 billion while Supreme Court Justice Kennedy’s son led a real-estate division

June 29, 2018

During Mr. Kennedy's tenure, Deutsche Bank became Mr. Trump's most important lender, dispensing well over $1 billion in loans to him for the renovation and construction of skyscrapers in New York and Chicago at a time other mainstream banks were wary of doing business with him because of his troubled business history.
