Has this ever happened before ?

Okay I'm having a slight problem. On 5/30/03 my story The Bitch was approved for the lit and posted. Then as of 6/18/03 The Bitch chp.,2 posted. The problem is now when I veiw my stories The Bitch chp 2 is posted twice once under the correct title and again where the "original" or first part of the story should be. What should I do ? and is it possible to delete a story that has already be approved and posted. Also the Bitch (when it was correctly posted) had a 4.56 vote so if I have to delete it what about the votes and ratings ?

I don't get it. I looked at your author page and only see two Bitch stories. The Bitch and The Bitch Ch. 02

Are you talking about the ones in your submissions page where only you can view it? Or is it out in the lists on the stories?

If you're talking about the one on your submissions page, then you should see a blue link that says pending, in preview, or rejected. You click that, scroll down, and press delete. If not, then drop a PM to Laurel outlining your problem complete with links. She's the only one who can fix it.

See, KM, they're different titles but the exact same text minus the author's note.

That hasn't happened to me before, des, but it's obviously happening to you.

Okay here's what *I* would suggest you do: 1st I would re-submit The Bitch 1 - I would title it "The Bitch ch. 1 RESUBMISSION" (that's the one that's been copied over, right?) with the correct text in there. In the note on the bottom explain that a mistake was made and your original story got copied over.

If you want to, you could also E-mail Laurel after re-submitting. If you do that, include a note in your note that you sent an email. That might be weird sounding, but I guess when there's a problem with my stuff I have to make a huge fuss and send a zillion messages.

Okay good luck to you and I'm sure Laurel can restore everything back to normal.

Wow...

That just sucks. I don't have any helpful suggestions, either. If it were me, I would just wring my hands a lot and maybe glare at the computer for awhile. I'd use a lot of profanity, too. (Feel free to try these things!)

Then I would listen to Chicklet.

... it has. A couple of years ago the links were wrong on a story I was reading and I e-mailed or PM'd Manu and he fixed it.

Try accessing your story by another route, eg as a recently posted or via the category listing or from the top ten lists. You may well find that some links are OK and others are not.

Thanks for the help everyone. the stories are fine now
I did what chicklet suggested and re-submitted the story with a brief explanation as to what happend and now things are fine
