It's collective sense of humor?
It's sexiness?
It's honestly?

Has it just gotten too big?

I don't think Lit has lost anything necessarily. Though, it's always growing with members. I think lately, however, there's been a lot of focus on trolls and negativity. Too many people, who can't stop watching all the train wrecks. Perhaps, a bit too much whining and complaining. Not enough people learning how well the ignore feature works. Lit is after all, what we as the posters make it. Some things will always be a part of a continuous cycle, and the rest is about change as the site continues to flourish.
The humor, sexiness and honesty are still there. You just have to search it out sometimes. Other times, it may be right in front of you, and you simply don't notice.

I think so

I am losing interest.

Must be getting bored.

Nice new avi BB

Time to move on I think........

It is possible that is has lost some of its humor. It sexiness, since I have been here (almost from the begining) that was never a word used to discribe it...although it has never just been about the sex... Honesty? HELLO! you better take a step back and look at everyone's posts and get train load of salt to take with it! = you never know who or what is behind that screen name...

Too Big --- I hear it said all the time that size doesn't matter but how you use it.... howsoever.... those that post just to run up a large number of posts and in turn now add pages upon pages to threads do not add to the quality of this site..

I know Laurel and I differ mega big time on a political spectrum - but I am damn proud of her success with this overall outstanding site.... but, can it get too big, maybe, but only because we miss the good old days when you really could get to see what everyone had to post and be able to catch up reading all the threads in less that 30 min.. anymore if it shows multiple pages then I bypass it .... Knowing full well that I will proably miss alot of the good wit and humor that I so sorley miss...

all that said, my profile signature says it best,

Yes, it's lost something. Its lost many of its very interesting posters....

I don't think it has gotten too big, I just think that lately it has looked a little unappealing due to the negativity, the fighting, trolling and kindergarten stuff. If you were a newbie here, wanting very much to take part, would you easily throw yourself into the GB? I just sigh, thinking of those we'd probably love to get to know, that are holding back, or worse, leaving because of all the silliness.

The beauitiful minds that so attracted me when I ventured from the other forums here still rock me...Lit has so much to offer. Those of you that are the backbone of this site have done an excellent job, and those of you that are just starting to take part are a refreshing component of what makes this place tick. I really enjoy getting to know all of you.:)

I hate to be so bold, but if we're finding Lit boring, the best thing we can do is to contribute in some small way. Take part...its the first steps in getting to know eachother, and keeping this community so special.

Perdido,
I look for my heart
It's perdido
I lost it way down in Torito
The day the fiesta started

Bolero,
I swayed as they played a Bolero
I kissed 'neath a listing sombrero
And that's when my heart departed

High, was the sun when I held him close
Low, was the moon when we said, "Adios"

Perdido
My heart ever since is Perdido
I know I must go to Torito
To find what I lost Perdido

(scat)

High, was the sun when I held him close
Low, was the moon when we said, "Adios"

Perdido
Goodnight perdido
I lost perdido

GB has always been a harsh place to get started. I know I surely didn't just jump right in over here.

I think that just about anywhere you go where there are longstanding members you're going to have inside jokes and silly little cliques. I've tried going to other boards and left because I just felt out of place. Those boards weren't unfriendly... they were just unfamiliar.

I also agree with Summery that it's more or less just a troll/negativity thing that seems to be circulating as of late. But - as Laurel tells us quite often - it's just a phase. It's happened before - it'll happen again.

I intend to ride it out.

I hear you on that - I seem to be spending less and less time here! Which is sad, I have some good friends on these boards but I never seem to see them on here anymore either! <sighs>

Some of my absent friends include (and this is only a partial list so no sulking if I miss you)

Plasticman33 (I know why he left - and he is still in touch sometimes)

NZWookie - I haven't spoken to him in months though I do catch LMN sometimes.

Carl East - He used to chat to me all the time...

And of course there is you yourself Dragonette - We used to chat alot on the Aussie/Kiwi thread...

I think everyone is moving on, and I know it is a fact of life but it is a sad one!

A better question would be, did it ever have it to lose?

I have to tell you that 90% of the threads on this board I pay no attention to because they do not interest and/or concern me.

One thing that does bothers me is spelling. Is there not some online form of Websters? is too much to ask anyone to put just the slightest bit of effort into this?

I understand that some people are just not very good spellers, this is not directed towards them. But rather those who seem to do it on purpose.

COMMUNICATION.

How do you expect us to understand you?
How can you hope to ever get your meaning conveyed if you fuck up all the words?

oh i see we're in this part of the literotica circle ... "literotica isn't as good as it used to be" ;)

Hmmmm. The cycle as of late has been a bit negative. The spammers haven't helped either. Overall there is still the base of positive posters here though and I feel that it will swing back to the 'good' side soon. Hang in there, it runs in and out throughout the years. Just like life. :)

You get out of it what you put into it.

Don't look at lit, look at yourself.

Lit is only what we make it. If you don't like it, if you think it has lost something. You do something to make it better.

I remember when you used to post all these philosophical threads. The Koran quote a day thread, the tarot cards, your writing.

Where have you been, Birdie?

You're not putting into it anymore, just questioning what's here.

Someone please find the link to Laurels' monumental tome "Cycles" or whatever the hell it's called.
