Has anyone here heard about this?

I just read in the local newspaper's editorial section about a proposed march in Washington during the days of April 23-25. Supposedly they are calling it the "Hold their feet to the fire march". It is supposed to deal with "Thousands" of people going to Washington to let the powers that be they are unhappy with the way Washington is handling the Illegal Immigrant issue in the United States.

Has anyone else heard about this? Or is it just another of our locals venting their Spleen?

p.s. The local Paper is the Palm Beach Post and can be found at:

This was the first I had heard about it, and I usually hear about strange things like this. Oh well.

I hadn't heard about it, but we're still inundated with the "minutemen" sitting on lawn chairs in the middle of the desert when they're not setting off motion detector alarms that the border patrol then have to go investigate every time. Asses.

Every week I kid you not, there is someone down there protesting.

Its such a common thing here that no one (and seriously I mean no one) pays it any attention anymore.

So if they are planning something, I suspect if is more for local news than to get attention up here.

Yeah, it's been mentioned a lot in AZ. A lot.

(I'm against borders)

Reality:

Congress & president know how important illegals are to the economy. (They push a lot of cash around, they make everything cheaper, and they put in more social security $ than they take out.)

Congress and Pres. will make a bunch of lip service to the anti-immigration/closed borders factions. Nothing will change.

Wait. Strike that. They will change something. They will continue to make it harder for innocent people to go about their own business.

Heard the latest on the passport thing?

Bush is shocked (shocked!) that americans will have to show passports to go to and from mex/can. (Seriously, on the news tonight.) His idea? Maybe we'll just put in a simple fingerprint thing... much easier than carrying a passport around. (yeah, that's the ticket) (And get more in that national database... maybe some DNA samples at the same time... what do you have to worry about if you've done nothing wrong, right?)

And people keep thinking he's an idiot... I'm betting this fingerprint thing sails through...
