Has anyone here ever broken a bone? What does this feel like? How long was the rehabilitation process? How long did the bone take to heal after being set and casted?

Have you broken a finger?

I dislocated my knee once, does that count?

I've broken my left pinkie toe once, the right one three times, the last time it was sideways, all you can do is pop it back into place, ice and ibuprofen.

Altogether, I have broken or fractured 37 bones during my lifetime.
By far the worst were my C7 (fracture), 4 ribs, and when I broke 7 bones in my right foot.

Ribs are just a matter of patience. It's not like you can put them in a cast. Yes, it's painful. Feels like you're being stabbed when you breathe. Took about two months before I felt okay again.

Arm? I felt and even heard the snap when it happened. The pain was immediate and screamed at me, or at least that's how I remember it (I was 10). It was enraging, and it was the first time I swore in earnest, saying to my brother, "Wipe that smirk off your face and get Mom FUCKING NOW!"

He did.

I don't remember how long the cast was on. Probably 12-16 weeks, but there's still a very slight bend to my right arm. And it reacts to sudden changes in barometric pressure. Ouch.

I have broken a few. The cracked ribs were the worst and best. It hurt to laugh and it tickled when it did not feel funny.

Yes, I have broken bones several times using a shotgun.

No, there was not any rehabilitation process.

When I did the martial arts thing way back when, I broke a guy's had with a kick during sparring. It felt really weird feeling his bone crumple like that.

I've broken like 3 fingers and a toe.

smashed (exploded) all the bones in big toe and one next to it, broke bone in arch of foot once, minor small breaks in several fingers- hey break the small ones often and skip the big bones.

Smashing the toes was the worst. I really thought they were gone until I got my boot off. Then I wished like hell they would have been gone. Two ruptured discs in back didn't hurt that bad.

all the fractures i've had i never went to a doctor.
right foot when i was 10. right wrist twice when i was 11. right shin was cracked when i was 42, you could see the 4 inch crack through the skin and blood pooled in my ankle. right index finger last year. finger still doesn't work right.
they all hurt like hell. lots of ice, and time to heal. and when the weather is just right, i can feel them all.
