your employer doens't have ANY obligation to provide you with any fun. Be it a Holiday party or whatnot. Having kids has NOTHING to do with it. Maybe he's of a religion that doesn't celebrate, maybe he just cares more about the bottom line. Maybe you're just being a cry baby. At least you have a fucking job! There's plenty who would happily work ANY holiday, because that means at least they've got a job.

We don't have a Christmas party at work anymore, department stores aren't the best place to have a party. Everyone is always so busy & stressed, we had very little attendance & no one ever had much fun. We now have a "The holidays are over & we survived it all" party in January. We have it on a Sunday evening & nearly everyone is able to attend. My store manager loves the holidays, but we are at the store to work, not party. During the holidays, we do different things for our employees. Have lunch catered in on the really busy days, provide snacks, have days where we can jeans, things like that. It helps everyone keep their spirits up & the party in January is a lot of fun.
