Has anyone else here been playing hooky from writing/editing their stories? I know I have, at least from the editing part of it. I just haven't been able to get motivated for editing. (Writing is another story, no pun intended. I have two stories written, one which I need to go over once more, the other to go over at least twice, and a story about half way done.)

Yup. I've been in a bit of a writing slump. Probably because school is out and I'm taking a break from writing anything for a while. Still, I would like to write a new story. I just can't find the motivation. My last story was my essay, Women Are Nasty, Too, and that was clear back at the beginning of April. I don't know. *sigh* But, yes, I've been playing hooky too.

Um, that's what I always do?

:D

And that we all love ya, in an almost platonic way of course. (Ducking while looking for miffed dragons.)

I was. Didn't feel like writing anything for a month or so. Then BANG! almost 3000 words today. And considering how fast I type that's an achievement.

What's with this "we" and "almost platonic" shit, Cat? Speak for yourself you fiesty feline. :) The lust in heart (among other places) for Cloudy is anything but platonic.

Damn skippy! :D

I haven't been writing, so I guess I am playing hooky. Except that writing is usually my way of playing hooky from everything else. So now I've confused myself and I'm not writing or playing hooky.

Wine, anyone?

Only if I can taste it from your lips... :rose:

I'd just settle for your sweet lips.

I tend to edit as i write. It may not be the best way to do it, but it saves time. Lately, i've been suffering from burnout. I just get nothing...

I have a note from my mother excusing me from editing.

Actually, I have yet to finish the current crop... keep starting new ones.

It's very weird..but I've been writing AND editing...

It's quite worrying really!

Where have my procrastination skills gone?:D

My normal muse is MIA...I am working on finding it within me instead of without for the first time in a while, with a little help from a dear friend...

I have the ideas, but I've been having a tough time expanding them into prose. So, I've just been jotting them down. If it's meant to be born, the fetal idea will gestate. (I hope.)

I'm an epileptic poet, though. I can feel the aura that presages a poetry seizure. It builds for an hour or a day -- and then the attack happens. Quick, brutal, and quickly over. Poem submitted.

Hrrrm, anybody remember NaNoWriMo 2004?
About 50,000 words?

*shuddering violently*

It still needs its first editing...

My 2003 NaNo needs re-editing...

As do all my stories, especially the ones where Black Tulip has pointed out my stupid errors like changing characters' names.

'Oh! Oh! Jane! That was great!'

'It was, wasn't it - but my name's not Jane. Who's Jane?'

Um.

Mine still needs an ending. I stopped at 53000 words, and about 2/3 left of the story to write.

SeaCat,

I have about 50 unfinished stories.

I recently got some feedback on ONE of them from one of the good people in AH.

That person identified a style problem which exists, to greater and lesser degrees in EVERY SINGLE THING I have written.

Do u think I am playing hookey?! I am too terrified to even look at what I have written.
