Has anybody had CUSeeMe Experiences involving BDSM?

Okay, I'm quick to 'fess up that this thought arose as I was masturbating while watching "Sex Bytes" on HBO and saw a piece on CUSeeMe technology. I wondered if people have explored this as part of BDSM--either where couples watch one another or where a dominant and submissive play together from afar. If so, what has worked well and what hasn't?

Relatedly, I don't quite understand how the technology works--do you call one another and establish a modem link?

Thank you in advance for any responses.

I am not sure what you mean by CUSeeMe, but if you mean playing over the webcam, I understand then. I have tried it, but confess it has limited stimulation for me. I think it is a little different for a woman. It is one thing to get aroused by watching, but another thing to masturbate sitting in a chair at a computer. The position of the camera has to be moved and just masturbating in a chair is awkward. Getting everything situated just right breaks the mood for me. This is only one sub's opinion.

CUSeeMe is video chat software. It works basically the same as Netmeeting or any other video chat software. One person "calls" the other person and they direct connect. The only difference with CUSeeMe is that they have whole chatrooms for this software and there is many people in one room watching and chatting with each other. Some are Kink based rooms and some are not. Just depends.

Edited to say...Nope I've never played on a webcam like that. I've watched, just never played.

Well, that complicates mattters

I didn't realize one would have to stay at the computer desk to use the feature. Somehow, I had the idea that you could point the camera at a bed or the couch and proceed from there, perhaps following commands and suggestions typed from whomever was "watching."

CUSeeme

I and my sub, molly, have played around with CUSeeMe before. It's been a couple of years but we had some fun using it -- I lucked out and found a group on the Web that was very particular about who they gave their IP address to, so the clientele was very selective. E.g., no trolls or kids :)

The extent of our game playing involved me ordering molly to put on one of her outfits, then we'd go online and find a likely room. I had molly do requests for the room while I helped -- I typed, mostly, and told her what to do next. We had a blast, and it was one hell of a turn-on for both of us. I think it was the first time I realized the depth of molly's submissiveness. Nothing else can float her boat nearly as much.

We lost track of that group (It was Stacker's Playhouse I believe), and the old Quickcam was hard to manage. We're trying to set it up again. This time both of us have color Cams so we can chat privately as well (we live in separate cities). Imagine my disappointment when I found out that CUSeeMe wasn't shareware anymore, but goes for about $50. Still, it was one of the easiest to use that I've found. Easier than NetMeeting, even. As soon as the software gets here, we're going to be looking for a good site to play.

Thanks for the great replies.

I'm unclear how you make the connection with others, though. Forgive my inexperience, but I don't know what an "IP" is in this context.

IP means Internet Provider that's the number that you connect with. It's 8 numbers I believe. I could be very wrong though because I'm very shit faced.

"IP" stands for Internet Protocol, not to be confused with "ISP", which is your Internet Service Provider (like AOL, Earthlink, AT&T, etc).

Every time you connect with the Internet, the Net assigns you an address. With most dialups, this number changes with each session online. With more persistent connections (like my cable), the number doesn't change very often if at all.

Once you're connected to the Net, there are commands which allow you to see your IP address, for example by clicking on "Start", "Run", then typing in "winipcfg" you can see your IP address on older versions of Windows (doesn't work with 2000 or later, I think).

Anyway. If I know your IP address, I can create a direct connection from my computer to yours if we're both running the same software - like CUSeeMe. It's a way to avoid crowded chat rooms.

Brilliant. I love it.

So, has anybody else had experiences which they would like to share? The BDSM possibilities seem relatively endless IF there is someone to maneuver the camera.
