Harsh Scoring in Some Categories

I guess I don't even have to ask if you feel that some categories are judged more harshly than others. Anyone who has ever written a Loving Wives story has experienced some criticism unique to that category. Do you agree?

I'm a little perplexed over my scores on my Mind Control series since I get such positive feedback and comments. These were my first stories in that category. I've enjoyed writing that series so far, so the score isn't going to deter me from continuing. I'm not sure if Mind Control is just one of those categories that is a little harsh on scoring.

Do any of you find getting high scores in some categories particularly difficult?

Do you have any tips for doing well in a specific category?

I find that the readers of categories Loving Wives, Mind Control and Fetish are more difficult to please.

Each person seems to have a different idea of what the category is about and if the story doesn't fit his/her preconception then the vote will be low and if any comment is left it may be negative.

Is Mind Control equivalent to Non-Consent? Some think it is, some don't. Perhaps it depends on whether they seem themselves as the controller or the controlled.

Loving Wives? I write about wives who love their husbands. Apparently that is not allowed.

Fetish? If the reader has a particular fetish and my story is close to but NOT that fetish then a 1-bomb is probable. Bondage with nylon pantyhose is an example. If the reader wants to tie the woman up with pantyhouse, or sheathe her in it, then a story by me where the man is the one tied up is rubbish.

If you have a preference for a certain type of sexual encounter and the story you read isn't of that type I would prefer that you don't vote or comment. The story might be great for someone else but not you. Would you criticise Bach because he isn't The Rolling Stones? Or Bruce Springsteen because he isn't Chopin?

Some of Lit's categories struggle to contain the different conceptions of that category and Loving Wives is the one most likely to offend.

My one Fetish story did rather well. Once the troll votes got swept.

To be honest, for some reason and in my opinion, the amount and level of feedback has decreased a fair bit all over Lit. I'm not sure why.
