Hogwarts is the school Harry attends... Hogwarts Schol of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The time the Hogwarts express takes from London Kings Cross up north is about 6.5hrs and J.K. Rowling lives in Edinburgh. So yes, it is in Scotland

The other 2 schools in the Triwizard Tournament are Beauxbaton (France) and Durmstrang (somewhere where it is cold)

I've been writing a series called Harriet Hotter and the Sorcerer's Bone. I'll try to upload the first chapter this weekend . . . it is already posted at my website at the asstr.org link below. You can also access it via alt.sex.stories.moderated.
