Harold & Maude

I haven't seen it yet....but I will now cause I have this obsession with seeing every movie mentioned by other people..........so , I will get back to you on that.

Is it supposed to be funny like Four Rooms funny?

That movie is definitely in my top 5. I really dug that movie as a young 'un. I had it on video, and I've probably seen it literally 100 times. My favorite scene is the one in which he's with his military uncle, and Maude is supposed to be a war protester, and they chase her till she falls into that hole. I also like the bit where he announces to his mom that he's in love with Maude, and then they show his mom, uncle, and the priest talking to him about how disgusted they are. I love that movie. I want to go watch it again.

My torts are named Harold & Maude, btw.

Now I understand

Hmmmm! The veil just lifted on many things about which I've often wondered.;)

Not to worry

Hey, hey! What's THAT supposed to mean, Buster Brown? :p

I'll keep my conclusions to myself.

For the time being:p

this is one of my favorite love stories!

* the scene where Maude liberates the tree
*Harold blowing bubbles after they make love for the first time
*Maude teaching Harold to sing
*Harold's mom filling out his application for the dating service
*Maude throwing the ring in the lake so that she'll "always know where it is"

sigh...I just watched this movie for the umpteenth time last week. It reminds me to L-I-V-E LIVE! otherwise, I got nothin' to talk about in the locker room :D

I loved how all of the people that lectured him had a gold framed picture behind them to represent their two dimensional perspective - the Uncle had the Military Hero, the Pyschoanalyst had Freud, the Priest had the Pope. Nice touch to the scenes.

I also want his car. That is now my all time favorite vehicle. I think I'm going to have to learn how to use a blow torch. :D

Harold! That was the third date!

The movie is full of neat little touches, many of which you don't catch the first time around. There aren't many movies I can watch more than once, but that's definitely one of them. 'Time Bandits' is another movie I can watch multiple times, for some reason. I'm kinda weird, in case you haven't noticed.

That's a glorious monologue...Ruth Gordon was an absolute goddess.

When I was a youngster, I DREAMED of that car. Unfortunately, my dad wasn't too keen on paying to turn old Jag E-type into a hearse. Parents are no fun.

Watch it, you! Or I'll have your Laurel notes confiscated! :p

You wish you could see my Mensa notes...ooh boy! Have I got the dirt on you...

Let's see pouring over her notes...witty...sarcastic...one-liners...insights...uh huh...yep, I've got the scoop on you, buddy row...

Ah! I almost forgot.. scribbles in notebook.."mysterious avatar"...

I'm Always Surprised...

...At how many people haven't seen Harold and Maude...(just an aside here, Cheyene Anthem iz on this old mix tape I dug up)...Speaking of Music, Cat Stevens and his optimistic music is the soundtrack for these two people who are drawn to death for their own particular reasons...I always share this movie with my closest of new friends...The way Harold's mom blows him off and the prospective dates freak out always cracks me up...My top 10 movies tend to vary from time to time in their order...i.e. I just saw Catch-22 again and it's back in my top 5...for now...
