I've just spent the last ten minutes furiously dancing around my room - first off to Chuck Berry - Johnny B Goode and then improvising a solo version of the infamous 'Million Ways' dance by Ok Go.

If that mental image doesn't bring a smile to your face, I don't know what will.

What's cheering you up today?

That does!

Dancing is good.

Today we are reveling in the cuteness of our animals. They're all vile creatures that urinate on clothes or try to bite people, but they're just so very cute.

Cute is high on the list of mood lifters. And it keeps you from strangling them and/or putting them to sleep.

The same principle as with my kids.

As usual, it's the kindness of strangers that make my day.

Someone here left yet ANOTHER positive comment on one of my stories, which turns on a lot of lights.

Several someones are giving the great gift of reading my work and giving me feedback. That's like food and oxygen.

Someone is helping me handle writing related problems with good advice.

More than one person around here is making me laugh, smile, giggle, and snort my drink. One or two have made me feel especially sexy with just a comment or two. Precious stuff, that.

And a couple special folk have made an effort to be friends with me, which is ... well, hell, it's dark chocolate on macadamia nuts!

It's not as dramatic as dancing around the room, but I'm wiggling in my chair. Does that count? :)

If you're leaving a damp patch, then it counts double :D.

Everytime I look at your AV, Earl, I slide across my leather seat :)

Wasn't today, but last night my husband gave me an unexpected (and rare) compliment.

He told me that I had a natural beauty, and that I looked just as good without make-up as I did with it. :)

Now that's a quality compliment!

Mrs H has what used to be called pre-senile dementia, now it's called early onset Alzheimer's. Mrs H is in her late fifties.
Last year her husband (about which my friend wrote a poem Praise from lovers) her husband had to have her put into a home until they could sort out her medication and he could sort himself out before he became violent to the woman he loved.

Mrs H visits us 3 times a week for a few hours at a time so her husband can have some down time for himself.

Mrs H is very bright and when lucid (which is very very occasionally) becomes frightened and angry about her illness. She dances happily to her favourite music, she is warm and affectionate and she is unable to string two words together that would make any sense to a listener.

The day before yesterday I asked her "How's it going Mrs H?" and she said "Don't call me Mrs H, call me Margaret."

My taxes are finally done, I didn't get hit by the AMT, and I'm getting a refund.
