Really, does anyone give a flying fuck about what the Mexi cantz and Mexi cuntz did a while ago:rolleyes:

A) Mexican Food is delicious

2) Mexican Beer is preferable to most domestic brands.

III) May 5th is just another day in Mexico. It is only in the US that for some perverse reason it is the day of National pride. For another Nation, Weird.

When I was a boy here in San Diego it was not widely celebrated, or for that in the United States, it wasn't even celebrated widely in Mexico. The only major celebrations taking place in Puebla, Mexico as an historic remembrance. Today it is more of an American celebration than a Mexican one.

yeah

lucky us

another reason to drink

Stink Hose Duh Mayple:rolleyes:

Ask an actual Mexican, much less a Mexican-American, what is being celebrated.

The blank look you get is much the same as asking an American "ute" what it was that armistice day celebrated.

(Interesting...spell check wanted to change lower case mexican-american to Mexican-american. Figures)

great commercials

Im surprised there is no evidence that it works:confused:

What If Fox News Instead of MSNBC Had Pulled This Cinco de Mayo Stunt?

¡Ay caramba! Imagine the cries of offensive ethnic stereotyping or worse if Fox News had observed Cinco de Mayo by having one of its yanqui persons of pallor staggering across the set in a sombrero while chugging from a pint bottle of tequila?

But it happened on MSNBC, so the PC police probably won't make a peep. At today's transition from Way Too Early to Morning Joe, there pranced producer Louis Burgdorf with his Halloween-store sombrero and pint bottle. WTE host Thomas Roberts encouraged Burgdorf "to drink the whole thing and eat the worm," meaning either it was mezcal not tequila or Roberts just doesn't know his south-of-the-border booze. View the video after the jump.

If this had happened, say, on Fox and Friends, MSNBC might have had to cut into its Donald Sterling coverage with a Breaking News report on the racist outrage at Fox News, and La Raza would have had a picket line up before the end of the program!

Note the screen graphic on Cinco de Mayo: "Mexican Heritage Celebration," and consider the PC outrage, had this been Fox News, to have reduced Mexican heritage to this. All that was missing was a rehash of Jimmy Carter's Montezuma's Revenge crack!

Were it not for double standards Libs would have no standards at all.

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise (later became Best Foods on the U.S. west coast) was
manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars
of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was
to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New
York . This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise
ever delivered to Mexico . But as we know, the great ship did not make
it to New York . The ship hit an iceberg and sank. The people of
Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its
delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great,
that they declared a National Day of Mourning.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known,
of course, as -
Sinko De Mayo.

Students: It’s Illegal To Wear An American Flag Shirt On Cinco De Mayo In California

racist shirts

Diversity and tolerance is a one way street

Via The DC

Students in a California school district will not be allowed to wear American flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo, due to concerns that such displays of patriotism would inflame racial tensions by offending Mexican students on their holiday.

The district’s policy concerned many free speech advocates, but was upheld by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In response, Tea Party groups plan to protest outside Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill. And they will be wearing American flag T-shirts.

“They silenced a symbol of patriotism and freedom in America,” said Georgine Scott-Codiga, president of the Gillroy-Morgan Hill Patriots, in a statement to KCBS.

The trouble dates back to Cinco de Mayo in 2010, when the school forced four students to remove their American flag T-shirts. Administrators worried that fighting would break out between white and Latino students if the shirts were noticed, and so the four offending students were sent home.

The practice of limiting one group’s free speech rights because that speech might cause another group to react violently is known as the “heckler’s veto.” It is understood by free speech enthusiasts to have a chilling effect on First Amendment rights.

The Ninth Circuit, however, ruled in February that the school was legally permitted to abridge white students’ free speech rights in service of Latino students’ feelings.

The Tea Party protest is focused on the free speech issue, said Scott-Codiga.

Police will being standing by in case things get out of hand.

I've been in Mexico on the 5th of May before, there were no celebrations of any kind going on.

As a Mexican American, we only celebrated Sept 16. Independence Day.

^this.

I am often 30 minutes from the border. There is naturally a lot of cultural pride. Everyone is cousins by marriage with everyone else; most extended families straddle the border.

They celebrate the culture and people of Mexico, not the country.

They take Cinco De Mayo exactly as seriously as the Irish take St. Patrick's day as a religious holiday. They see it as an obscure holiday co-opted by the gringos as an excuse to get wasted.

OOOZZZZZ~

The scream of intolerance for not celebrating "Mexican Independence Day" (which as pointed out, it isn't.) in areas of California where students barely speak Spanglish, and most of it from movies is laughable.

It reminds me of "Kwanza" a holiday made up out of whole cloth by a white, liberal college professor because he assumes blacks need some holiday to "call their own" as if they are not somehow part of the human race.

(Interesting...spell-check recognizes "Spanglish" as a word and in need of capitalization.)
