Happy Memorial Day weekend to everyone and especially those in the armed services. I am just taking a break from the daily grind this weekend, well besides those things that have to be done.

Um, not for nothing, but you aren't supposed to be "happy" or "festive" on memorial day. It's a day of remembrance of those who have died in service of their country.

Veteran's day is when you get festive and celebrate those who have been in service of their country, and lived.

It is a time for happiness that people cared enough to die fighting for our freedom. My grandfathers would both expect us to be happily remembering them. You go be morbid if you like.
