Ok, I know it's not till tomorrow. But I wanted to wish all the fathers on her a happy fathers day, and ask everyone what they'll be doing for the holiday.

We're having K's whole family over and having a barbeque. Me and the kids got him a new playstation controler (he threw the last one at a wall), and Pink Floyd's 'The Wall'. He's gonna be soooooo psyched! I can barely wait for tomorrow!

ROLMAO Well, look at it this way, at least you had a days warning. And all cause of me. Now, hurry up! Go to the store, get your dad a present, and tell him you've had it all week, waiting anxiously for Fathers Day.

I do have a present - two presents, actually, and two cards too. This is what happens when you have unemployed lazy brothers.

I'm doing a collaboratibe present with my siblings for my dad. Yeah, um.... yes. It's like that. Y'know?

Just spoke with my Dad on the phone and I do believe he is going to buy me a new car...... so I guess I should really think of something good in return.

I'm going to try and muster up something nice to say to the old man.

Sadly, My Father and I have not been on speaking terms for a good while. If I can muster up the courage, maybe I will call him (even though he doesn't much deserve it.)

I could say "I love you" to mine..... but I am afraid it would cause either a heart attack, or he would fly over here to see whats wrong with me.

Helene, sorry to hear that.
If you could overcome that feeling he doesnt deserve a nice word from you, you might feel better about calling him ?

I had one unemployed, lazy brother. Then he decided that the army would teach him discipline. :( He's probably right, but I'd rather have a live unemployed, lazy brother than a dead one. *sigh*

I just got off the phone with my dad. He's got cancer, again. He wasn't the best dad in the world, as a matter of fact he sucked most of the time, but I don't want him to die. *sigh* I told him that if he got sick enough that he needed constant care that he could move in with me. I think that made him feel better, even though he HATES Oregon.

Congrats. How'd that go?

I felt like I was biting my tongue for most of the conversation, but all in all, nothing compared to how horrible I would have felt had I not.

It was my first Father's Day. That is, the first as a father figure type. The girls came up with an awesome gift. They're scared to death of my boss, but they asked him some time ago for help. They took one of t shirts from my old unit and asked him how to send it to them. All of my buds signed the back and the girls had it framed for me. Kids are awesome.

Around here Father's Day is on one of those Thursday Holidays in may (lucky Germans with tons of holidays! :) ). It was never important in my family though, because my mom decided that since she is the one who really does everything (my dad had to work late and went to evening school when we were small) Mother's day is important so we can thank her for everything she does for her daughters all the time, but since my dad never did so much around the house, it was deemed not so important.
He usually got to do something he really enjoyed, but that was it...

I had a good father's day, though I drank two cocktails and that was apparently enough to confuse myself. That was a first. My dad liked his gifts and had a good time, and even wore the "SuperDad" sticker I had for him. I had one that said "My Dad is my hero".
