Aw, thank you for all the B-day wishes! Now I do feel all warm and fuzzy.
My birthday was pretty good. I went out with a group of friends. We had dinner at Johnny Carino's, where the food was pretty good, the glass of Rosemount Syrah I had with it was even better, but the service sucked. I was at the end of the table (you won't find me doing that again) and was consistently ignored and forgotten throughout, as was everybody at my end. We had to be continually nudging and hocking the waiter to do anything for us. I got a free birthday sundae but by that time, my mood had deteriorated almost too much to enjoy it. And why, why, why separate checks for the food and the drinks, when the kids waiting on us are so change-making-challenged they can barely handle one? On our bill was a toll-free number where you could call and participate in some kind of feedback survey. When we turned it in with our money, we didn't get it back. Well, if I had given my table such disorganized and chaotic service, I wouldn't be interested in them getting their hands on a toll-free feedback number, either; but did they really think it would not occur to me to go to the website and unload? Which I did? Most certainly I did.
The following day was nice, too. We'd managed to get the kid out of the house...
