Happy Birthday, midwestyankee!

Thank you, all, for taking the time to send greetings.

I just an hour ago participated in a mass celebration of Lincoln's bicentennial, for he was born 200 years ago today in Kentucky. All across Illinois, schools stopped their activities for three minutes at exactly 9:30 a.m. to do a mass simultaneous reading of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. I logged into the webcast of the simutaneous reading done at the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, IL, and spoke it aloud at the same time. While I'll have some cake this evening, being able to join in the celebration of my life-long personal hero is a real treat.

Doc, I guess we'll just have to get back together for another beer sometime.

Happy Birthday Yankee. I'm afraid I brought no pictures.

Will <angel birthday hugs> be a suitable replacement?

Thanks again, everyone. I delighted in the good wishes, the pictures, and the roses. After all, I was running out of thorny stems.

*pops out of the cake*
