That's right, one year from today, our little girl will be a wedded wife, to have and to hold, for richer for poorer, whatever. So I'm starting this thread for two reasons.

First: Congratulations, sweetie!

Second: I'll be sending you my present, a rough draft of my 12,000 or so word story, Battle of the Banns (click to preview) later today. And in that vein, I'd like to remind my fellow scriveners that the Vermilion Wedding Dress Dirty Wedding Story Collection could no doubt use a few more pledges. It is, of course, a worthy cause, and I'm sure that contributors will be appropriately rewarded with pictures of the wedding (if not the actual honeymoon).

Yes, I think MarshAlien is justified in saying that - A big fat photo of me in all my glory will be sent to each individual contributor to my website...
And a little one may be posted on the forum in general if I'm feeling brave.

And Marshalien - dude - 12,000 words? You're gonna need a CD all to yourself if I'm going to do some recording!!

I have made myself a to-do list and the website is on it. I intend to have it up and running by the 17th September... no particular reason, I just picked it at random. So those of you who pledged stories - that's the deadline!

I am also going to write some more of my story today.
I am I am I am.

How does this read as a front page for the website?

-------------------------------------------------------

I am a poor twenty-something, a recent student. My main income goes on food and rent (boring!) but next year I get married (cue the ‘aaaaah’) and I have fallen in love with the perfect dress. Unfortunately this dress costs two thousand English pounds. That’s a lotta money. That’s over four thousand dollars. Trust me to fall in love with one that costs that much and not, say, £300.

So anyway, as I said, regular income goes towards boring old living expenses and any extras earned go toward the wedding itself, or to saving for a house. The way things are going at the moment I’ll be walking down the aisle in my underwear – if not naked! Not a problem, those of you of the male persuasion are probably thinking, but seriously – it’s my wedding day, I need a dress. So… I had to get inventive.

For the last couple of years I’ve been writing erotic stories which, although fun, is not very lucrative in itself. I have made a lot of friends in the erotica world and some of them have been kind enough to donate stories to my cause and now I come to the point: I will use these stories as bait to raise money for my dress.

For every £100 raised I will post a new erotic story for your pleasure and perusal. The theme tying all these stories together is ‘The Wedding,’ and, as you will see, it’s amazing how creative authors can get in order to fit the story to the theme!

As a grand finale I will post MarshAlien’s magnificent comic-erotic epic ‘Battle of the Banns,’ possibly in several parts if it gets much longer!

A list of the stories with a brief outline and a short excerpt can be seen on the ‘Stories’ page, each link will become live as the total climbs. Please please show your pity and/or appreciation for my plight/the stories and donate a small amount to my dress fund.

If enough interest is shown then an audio CD may be released with a selection of the best stories being read in my (apparently) sexy English voice. These would be sold through Ebay and money raised would contribute to the overall total. Please let me know if you would be interested in a CD, as it will only be worth doing if enough copies are required.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me so far and to all those of you reading this – enjoy the stories!

Hey, I like it! And I saw my submission/entry! Ever so cool for you, V.

*hums Wedding March under her breath

I'll buy, even though I'm a contributor as well. You gonna take Pay Pal?

That'll be the method of donation I think.

Now I just need someone who can do coding (better than me, that is, I'm not very good) and create some kind of basic message board and I'm sorted.

DONE! Ta-da! Although "magnificent comic-erotic epic" is perhaps a bit of an oversell. It's a pretty good story, though, I think, and I'm shipping it off to you this minute.

Looking good.

I'll try to finalize my story #1 for you today.

And I have story #2 I want to write still.

V: story #1 is ready to go. You still have the link to copy it from?

I sent my story off to my usual editor, who replied with the following suggestion for your fund-raising:

If you really want to do this girl a favor, Marsh, get people to donate a dollar for each adverb and adverbial phrase in your story.

He's such a card.
