For those of you not in the know, today is the 800th anniversary to the day when English nobles (Barons) forced that dirtbag prince, I mean king John (on june 15th 1215) to cede some usurped power and rights back to the nobles. it also gave the average person the right to a fair trial among other things.
The Cliff note version is, it meant the kings word was no longer the law of the land and people had (limited) rights Vs. basically none . In fact much of our Bill of Rights stem from the Magna carta. IMO it's the best thing ever to come out of England so if you see a limey thank'em.
