...that's the received wisdom. Moderation. Calm. Passivity. Inner fucking Peace.

There has to be another way. Anyone?

Hate to differ...

But happiness is deep red, flowing through someone, exploding on to the scene. Happines is Now, Ecstatic, Overwhelming, All-Consuming.

Then again, so is every thing I feel, so maybe I'm not the person to ask.

Is that "paste" with an exclamation point? I hope not. I might agree, and that scares me.

Nope, sorry, that's what it is.

Happiness is also having wonderful memories and experiences in our lives, and also having no regrets. Yes, those make me smile. :)

And, happiness is having good friends in your life. Those are precious, hold onto them!

Speaking of which, I've gotta do this (cos he might be lurking. He might not, but he might), I just want to blow this to my good mate, Lew:

what's wrong with pastel?

happiness can also be chearful primary colors, or jewel tones or well- whatever makes you happy:)

But what's wrong with pastel?- I think it gets a bum rap!

Logo, that sounds slightly like something that needs to go in the horror section. very medical thriller. :D

I hate pastels . . maybe thats why I suffer from chronic depression?

Happiness can be paste, provided the teacher isn't stingy with the gold foil stars and red glitter.

Nirvana is a new box of 64 Crayola Crayons.

Is that the box with the sharpener embedded into the back? Loved those. Happiness is a sharp crayon.

Ok, less soppy answer...

Happiness is a good fart. Especially in the bath.

The closest I can get to happiness is forgetting to wonder whether I am.

Happiness is defininetly YELLOW!

Purple - primary, pastel or patched together?
Look at the stars; look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah, they were all yellow

I came along; I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow
-- Coldplay, "Yellow"

I resisted being advised to curb my passions when I was in therapy. I didn't want to become pastel. I love really spicy food; I drink absinthe. I wear bright colours. But maybe that's becuase England is such a pastel country, with bland food and bland weather. This green and pleasant country conspires against passion.

Awwww! :D

Moderation? You must be referring to lasting happiness. Yes, it might be pastel. It might last even longer if it's a soft, go-with-anything neutral like taupe.

Unrestrained happiness is the addictive kind that precedes an episode of guilt or something else unpleasant.

The color of unrestrained happiness is "crimsonite," a glittery fire-engine red seen in a particularly cheap stretch fabric, typically used in the manufacture of lurid, skin-tight dresses and other slutty attire sold to guttersnipes, trollops and the temporarily shameless at a place called Wicked Temptations.

That's what it says in my Fieldings' Guide, anyway.
