And I'm sure my supervisor will be absolutely pissed about it.
My Boss knows my plans about getting my Motorcycle Ticket on my liscence. She doesn't like it. She talked with one of the Unit Doctors who happens to ride. She wanted him to talk me out of it. (She also hates my smoking cigars and having a beard, but then again she would also prefer that I was female, ignorant and happy to work at slave wages.)
The M.D. showed up today to talk with me. He rode his bike in. We talked for a bit and he was surprised at my answers. He had expected me to go to the D.M.V., pick up a learners permit and buy a sport bike. Oh hell no, I'm going to the safe riders course next weekend and looking at small cruisers.
After a bit of talking we went out to the garage where he had parked his bike. It turns out to be the exact bike I'm looking at, just a few years newer. (Honda Shadow 750.) We looked it over and then he handed me his gear, including helmet and told me to check it out in the parking lot.
Man this bike fits me like a glove, and is better handling than I thought it would be. I'm completely hooked.
Then he tells me that he'll help me look for one like his, just a bit less pricey. He also tells me he and his wife are looking for another couple to do some riding with, so when I finally get my bike I'll have an experienced rider to play with.
OH my boss is going to be pissed when she finds out.
