So I definitely know I've commented on this story, but when I go to "My Activity" in my profile, there's no mention of it. After many hours trying to search for it, I'm led to believe that the author has taken her stories off of Literotica, so if that's the case, I'd like to try this thread before accepting that I'll never read it again.
The story starts out at the gym where the protagonist recognizes that she's being watched by a Christian Grey-type while she's on a stationary bike. The two start a casual friends-with-benefits situation where he establishes his experience and dominance over her right at the start. Over time, she eventually comes into her own sexually and the two have wild sexual adventures that span 5-7 amazing chapter submissions.
Despite their relationship he keeps his personal life hidden and towards the end of the series, the revelation is made that he likes her because she reminds him of an ex. She decides to humiliate him for not recognizing her as anything more than a mere replacement, and he goes ballistic. In the end, the girl confides in and ends up with her trusted, female roommate.
Upon reflection, it does remind me of 50 Shades, but it was some of the best writing that I've read here. The author did a fantastic job of pacing, ramping up the sexual tension, and writing all of it from a female's perspective. If anyone has any clue as to where this specific work or any other work from that author is, I'd greatly appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. Thank you.
