Seems like it is the women that make such a big deal over romantic days such as these.

So tell me, guys, what big plans do you have in store for your girl today or are you waiting for tonight???:D

Cassidy:kiss:

While I'm dating someone in my town, my girlfriend of 3+ years lives in Missouri and goes to school here. I flew down yesterday to be with her and celebrate V-Day and her birthday, which is tomorrow.

I brought presents and stickers, and myself with a little red ribbon around my co... err, I mean my neck :D

How nice!!!! Very thoughtful and I am sure she loved it.

Especially the little red ribbon;) I bet it got a little tight around your "neck" when she was taking it off...lol

Well, I am planning to do the usual, see about getting a sitter, taking Gilly out to a movie or dinner. Tell you what though, what really is going to make this Valentine's day stand out from the others is what we all ready did. Long, trying day yesterday. Had a few of them in the last few weeks, and finally about midnight we laid down and had the biggest heart-to-heart chat that I think either of us has ever given in our lives... this went on until nearly 2am. So, I think for Valentine's what Gilly and I have all ready exchanged: honesty, understanding, trust and a ton of love... well, I know I couldn't ask for anything more.

Likely this is more than any of you wanted to hear, but I feel so much better this morning than I have in awhile. -smiles-

Love you Gilly Bean. :)

What I'm doing for her today

1. Made her a mix CD for her to listen to in the car(Check)
2. Made her breakfast in bed(I did but with mixed results)
3. Am going to surprise her at the end of her shift with reservations to a restaurant I hate and tickets to a musical I don't want to see.
4. Having a Snowball fight/hot chocolate picnic-y thing in the backyard of our new house(She doesn't no we got it yet)

So I'm being a good husband.

A female friend of mine asked me if I would spend the day with her. She was so casual about it though, makes me wonder if she even knew what day today was...or maybe she's trying to tell me something? In any event, I'm not planning anything, I'm just going to take things a moment at a time and see where it all leads.

Yes, for all the newbies who don't me yet I'm told that under my gruff interior my most touching quality is that I am good to my fave person in the world.

No, I just dropped the glass of Orange juice on the stairs and broke it which caused me to yell out a bad word which woke her up prematurely. Oh well. Best laid plans of mice and me.

I'm traveling today on business. So, since I'm all alone tonight, it's difficult to do anything. Guess I'll just dream about what it could be...

That is, if there was someone to do it with!

Today's VOLUNTARY "Honey-do" list

Well, Cass - Here it is!

1. Get the teen-age son off to school without having to include her in the fight!

2. Ensuring that la casa nostra is pristine for her home-coming from work this evening.

3. A glass of bubbly and a single talisman rose when she crosses the doorstep.

4. Dinner will consist of:

Oven-grilled Atlantic salmon filets w/ fresh dill, butter, lemon & lime

California asparagus Hollandaise

My own wild/Basmati rice pilaf - NO recipe (in my head) Sorry! Guys.

A European blend slad - endive, raddicchio, romaine, etc. w/ home-made vinaigrette

A nice bottle of Pelee Island Gewurztraminer.

5. Cass - you can only imagine what is for dessert. :p

That's it. Low budget this year - Anyone got a job for a Sales & Marketing pro in the "hardware" sector? :D

Oh great one man... she's gonna love you for this

And I know all about number 3... and yet women always think its no sacrifice for us to do these things....

Luckily enough she already loves me.

Well, other than the fact that I had to buy the tickets months in advance and I'll be forced to eat from an idiots idea of what constitutes a "vegetarian menu" it's no big deal. Compared with what she does for me 24/7/52 It's nothing.

Did I mention she bought me an X Box for my birthday?

HOW many times have you used that?

I could just see you and Miss E in an argument... she mentions that and you grin and shut up.

I know. It's her get out of jail free card forever.

She even bought me NHL 2002. Can protestants be made saints?

Re: Today's VOLUNTARY "Honey-do" list

Good merciful romance, batman -

While I am guarding my own plans for my own reasons, let me suggest you ditch the oven and fire up the Weber Grill - it's mild enough now, just build a tray out of tinfoil to rest the salmon on and the taste will be so much better. Leave about 20 minutes or so but watch it carefully.

Enjoy, all.

Zounds, Sir Knight - I only BBQ salmon after soaking a Western Red Cedar plank in water for 24 hrs. previous - since it was - 20 degrees C., last night - the grille was not in mind...

Mine is a Broil King w/ cast-iron grilles - made here - Weber is TOOO pricey, what w/ BeaverBuck being so low <chuckle>

Peace, Brother Knight - Hope your day goes well.

I just got a surprise phone call Miss Cassidy.;)

I'll send you a PM with details:D

Happy Valentine's Day Sweets! :rose:

Well, I thought about making her a grilled cheese samich, and some mater soup tonight. Figured since she's my wife, she deserved at least that much. Maybe I'll sneak over to the neighbors home, and break in, and steal the roses he got for his wife, and give them to my wife. I might change the little note though, to make it look like they are really from me, that would be a good thing to do, I think.

ok, so I'm not really THAT cheap.

The reality is that I've arranged to have my Mom watch our Daughter for the night, and I've got reservations at one of her favorite Italian places, so we'll go there, have a nice meal, and then we'll come back and spend time together talking, and, well, imagine what you want...

Lo

Punish her.

She opened the Valetines Day package I sent her yesterday, a day early and I marked clearly not to open until Feb 14.. Surely such insolence cannot go unanswered.
