The premise: Guy has had a crush on a woman he knows for some time. He finally gets the courage to ask her and she accepts! Night of the date comes and when she meets him she is sitting next to another woman who she introduces as her girlfriend or wife.

What happens next?

Was his date confused? Is it a ploy to weed out men who aren’t serious about her? Are they actually in a relationship but wife/girlfriend gets final say?

One possible idea:

The date proceeds as normal but wife attempts to provoke male lead several times and even does things like a background check on him while they are having dinner. Lead keeps his cool though and manages to make it through the date. At the end of the date he starts heading towards his car and his date and her wife call him over.

“Hey aren’t you coming back to our place?”

Lead accepts and after being made to turn around when they enter a code on a keypad, he is let inside and his date and her wife let their hair down and come clean:

They are married and love each other but they also polyamorous: only problem is, so many people are happy to claim to be interested but wind up being jerks, especially guys so they started to both go on the same dates and try and push the potential date to see if they could set them off or if there were any red flags. Lead got a passing score so he’s free to keep going out with his intended date as he passed the test.

A. He agrees and he and date have sex while wife checks in once in a while

B. He agrees but decides to press his luck and asks wife out: after all he’s seen her at her worst he’d like to get to know her at her best.

C. He’s hesitant but date and her wife then say “look, the system’s kept us safe but we also haven’t had a new partner in months. How about we just fuck like crazy and then you can decide later if you want to keep dating one or both of us?”

This is all very good. I'd put the big reveal off though for several dates. Let them get to know each other before she decides to tell him the truth.

But seriously this is a great idea and there's a lot of ways it could go right and wrong and lots of good conflict. do your version!

In between dates the wife who is still posing as her best friend tries to seduce the guy.
This is to check if he would cheat on her.

Either he doesn;t give in, winning her trust.

At this point he has already figured out what is going on. He has sex with her and the sex is amazing, so afterwards she is bummed out that he 'cheated' on her wife with her. She starts talking to tell him what is going on and that he failed the test. But he interrupts her and tells he that he already figured it out. Then says that it was always their intention to both date him, so this isn't cheating. Happy with his answer she tells him that if the next date goes well he will get the chance to pleasure her wife as well and if he performs like he did just now, he is definately in, since that was the best fuck of her life.
