Gun control is next.

Poor rory can't actually make a case so he tries to associate when you posted with being triggered.

LOL...fucking pathetic.

Poor lil Dumb-Dumb didn't read past the headline. I think this is a very important part of the bill:

No...it's not, all online sales already have to go through an FFL dealer.

There is no such thing as a "gun show loophole"....that's a made up (D)ipshit myth.

Meh. How many of you have purchased a gun within the last couple decades without going through a federal background check? Try going to a gun show and see if you can find someone who will sell you one without a background check. Good luck with that. Dealers in every state are required to perform background checks, even at shows. Private party transactions don’t require federal background checks in some parts of the US but the vast majority of Americans live in the 22 states that do. How many people who privately transfer firearms to friends and relatives actually bother with that requirement is a whole different question. Many if not most of the bigger states already have 10 day waiting periods as well.

Even this largely insignificant bill is highly unlikely to get to 60 votes needed to pass the Senate. It is however already having a positive effect. Gun and ammo sales are setting new records and the NRA and other civil rights group are having a field day with fund raising. 🇺🇸🍻🇺🇸

goldernit! is obama coming for our guns again? where's my smelling salts?

Given the NRA is financially bankrupt...all the money that used to buy votes may very well be gone

So what your suggesting is that Biden will be the new "Firearms Salesman Of The Year" taking that crown away from Obama? Nothing increases gun sales like feckless legislation.:)

Meanwhile at a gun show...

The man knew Nelson was selling thanks to the handwritten menu taped on Nelson’s backpack advertising more than a dozen handguns, rifles and shotguns.

He offered $300 for a Glock 19 pistol listed at $350.

“Meet me in the middle at $325,” Nelson responded. “It’s never been fired. You can look down the barrel.”

“I can do $300 cash, that’s all I can do,” the buyer responded, before pausing. “I haven’t even looked at it yet.”

Nelson eventually relented and turned over the gun for $300.

Another man approached moments later, offering $300 for a semi-automatic rifle. Nelson pocketed another wad of cash.

In the span of about four minutes, he had sold two guns to two different strangers for $600.

I am sure you already have enough guns to start a small war. So have most others who are worried about their guns being taken away.

But the proposed legislation doesn't. It just makes it slightly more of a pain to buy more...

Do you mean the guns of all of those middle-class white kids shooting up schools are all unlicensed?

From the Violence Policy Center, regarding Columbine:

How Firearm(s) Acquired

Robyn Anderson, a friend of Klebold and Harris, bought the shotguns and the Hi-Point 9mm Carbine at The Tanner Gun Show in December of 1998 from unlicensed sellers. Because Anderson purchased the guns for someone else, the transition constituted an illegal "straw purchase." Klebold and Harris bought the TEC-DC9 from a pizza shop employee named Mark Manes, who knew they were too young to purchase the assault pistol, but nevertheless sold it to them for $500.

and the Denver Post:

Three guns used in the massacre at Columbine High School were bought last year by Dylan Klebold’s girlfriend shortly after her 18th birthday, investigators said Monday.

I think the point that many may be missing is that in order for these crimes to have been committed, laws were broken. Even stealing one from a parent, law broken. Assault, attempted murder and murder, laws broken. So adding yet another law is going to help how exactly?

In the Columbine situation, if the girlfriend passes all new background checks, then STILL went ahead and broke the law by giving them to the sick little bastards, the law changed nothing.

If the criminals keep breaking all the laws they want to, all the addition of new laws accomplishes are more obstacles for the law-biding, who aren't the problem.

Why aren't we punishing the straw purchasers fully? Why aren't we enforcing the laws on the books fully? I think those are the questions that need answering, not the addition of yet more laws.

Thoughts?

Actually think Joe has already captured the title from Obama. Try buying ammo anywhere in the US. They can’t keep it in stock and prices for popular ammo like 22, 9 mil, 223/556 are nearly double in most places. Same with popular pistols and modern sporting rifles.
