Daniel
Age: 19, just had his birthday.
Hair: Short ebony coloured hair, very fine and thin. Not quite a crew cut.
Eyes: Oak brown eyes.
Height: 5'8'' tall
Weight:140 pounds
Medium build with an athletic frame, softly toned muscles and sharp facial features. Broken nose, strong arms and shoulders. 6 1/2 inches.

Daniel was cold, and hungry, and tired, and lost. Even though he was wrapped in layers upon layers of sweaters, socks, long johns and underwear, the biting northern cold was still managing to pierce his body to the bone. He knew he was in danger of catching hypothermia, if he didn't have it already, but he also knew that his cabin was somewhere near by.

This was a stupid idea, trying to race the storm and win... Daniel thought as he trudged along in his wide snow-shoes, wishing he was back in town, sitting at the ski-lodge, drinking hot chocolate with that cute red-head who he shared a seat with earlier in the day.

Now, he felt like his brown hair were tiny icicles, digging into his face. Nearly every part of his body was numb with cold, and he was getting more and more tired with each step.

Now I wish I wasn't so lean and mean. I'd kill to be obese right now... if only for the extra padding to keep me warm. Where... WAIT! There it is! There's the cabin! Daniel felt his heart leap up when he saw a dim light past the swirling snow in the inky blackness. It was a good thing his parents cabin wasn't in the woods.

It'd be bitterly ironic if Daniel died on his first trip alone, after promising his parents over and over again that nothing would happen to him.

And so Daniel trudged. And trudged. And trudged. He could see that the light was getting bigger, but also fainter. Each step he took felt like he was wearing hundred pound weights on his legs.

Don't pass out... don't... pass... Daniel couldn't even finish his thought before he fell face forward into the snow, a dozen yards from his cabin.

“Wait.. so you are telling me that I am now his Guardian Angel? I have to protect and watch over him? But he is... is a man! How am I suppose to watch over, protect, care for a man. What if he takes a shower or has to um well you know go to the bathroom do I have to be right there with him?” Angelina could feel her eyes widen with the thought of having to see a man naked, someone that she herself was not romantically involved with. But then again now that she was promoted as the Head Angel called it, she had the responsibility of protecting and serving. The only good thing that she found that came out of her assignment was that she was allowed to become human to walk on the face of the earth again.

Angelina hadn’t been an Angel for very long, in fact just a few short years so she still remembered what it was to be human. To live among them and her morals still caught her up at times. A man, who would have thought that she would be a Guardian Angel to someone such as he.

Looking down through the clouds she watched him convince his parents that he would indeed be fine. It was to be his first outing without his parents and they were worried about him. Which in fact was a good thing since his name had come up on the possible list. Meaning that there was a chance that the Angel of Death would meet him before his time. That's how she had gotten the assignment, she was to make sure he didn’t meet his untimely death and now she had to keep him safe.

“You should have stayed at the ski lodge silly, there is nothing out there for you. But there will be something for the Dark one if you do not make it to the cabin. Hasn’t anyone ever told you not to travel into a blizzard before?” Mumbling this to herself and him as she watches his slow movement across the icy white land. Hearing his own words as they are thrown back to his and her ears.

This was a stupid idea, trying to race the storm and win...

“Stupid is not what I would call it, and you thought yourself capable to make it out there on your own. Why didn’t you wait until the summer like your parents had asked of you?”

Feeling herself becoming more agitated by the second, he wasn’t going to make it to the cabin she was sure of it. Since he was heading in the wrong direction, Now I wish I wasn't so lean and mean. I'd kill to be obese right now... if only for the extra padding to keep me warm. Where... WAIT! There it is! There's the cabin!

“That wouldn’t have helped, your being led the wrong way silly... UGH! No thats not the cabin your looking for turn around and go the other way. Oh why won‘t you listen to me you silly man.”

To her horror she watches him stop and stand completely still then crumple, to lay lifeless within the ice and cold of the night. Quickly shifting her form to that of a human female dressed properly for the chill of the night. Angelina shimmers and transports herself down to the man. Taking extreme caution as she checks him over, noticing that though he is young the man before her is actually very good looking. Leaning over Angelina takes a deep breath placing her fingers upon his pulse finding it to be very slight. Shaking her head she moves closer to him, placing her lips upon his she breaths into his mouth. Knowing her breath would breath warmth through his body. Just the touch of an Angel could do that but this, this would warm him from the inside out and that is what he would need to continue on his path.

“Rise silly man, be warm and let me guide you to a safe haven. Come with me Daniel you can not die this night. It would not look good for my record and I wish to get my bonus.” He would stay asleep but move with her softly spoken commands, walking as if he were dreaming, following her where ever she lead him.

Even though it sounded even to herself that she did not care whether the man lived or died. This was one thing that Angelina did take seriously, being one who had been taken before her time. But was unable to be returned to her body, so she was doomed to watch and wish with all her heart to have that which she couldn’t have as an Angel. Love!

Taking the man’s hand within her own Angelina closes her eyes, seeing the snow form a barrier around the two of them. Lifting them up and away from the mirage of the deathly cabin. In her mind she hears a beautiful man’s voice calling her to bring him back, remembering the voice that had called to her Angelina shivers. Not with a cold that could be felt but with the cold of death. He was calling to Daniel, this was not acceptable to her as her hand tightens holding him to her. “You shall not have him, he is mine to protect and I shall not give him up this night. Go find somewhere else to haunt, he is now protected by me and I know of your games.”

The laughter came at her from all around, cold, menacing, calculating. “Soon little one you shall not be there for him. He is young and rash he will make a mistake just as you did, do you not remember dear little Angelina. You came to my calling just as he shall and then little one you will not have a say in the matter.” Laughter once again consumes her surrounding them both before leaving them once more to leave them a stillness in the night that most would find eerie.

Taking a deep breath Angelina directs the winds to where she knew the actual cabin to be. Depositing them just outside of the cozy looking cabin, right at the porch. Leading Daniel up she gives a small wave of her delicate hand. Watching as the door opens for them welcoming them inside. Lights come on to greet them casting a glow on the ground at their feet, as the fireplace ignites beginning a fire to give warmth to the interior. Dancing merrily, flickering with the happiness of life.

Angelina moves to the couch knowing that Daniel is following behind her in his dream. Helping him to lay down she once again snaps her fingers, taking a blanket that just appears from nowhere, laying it across the sleeping form before her. Sighing softly as she watches the man sleeping unaware of the danger he had just been in. Upon closer examination Angelina decides that Daniel really was rather good looking. His features strong and sure but in sleep they had softened, giving him a gentler look then if he had been awake she was sure of it.

“Sleep well Daniel, you are blessed for now you have me to watch over and protect you. From this day forward I shall be here when you need me to be, though you will not know it nor will you ever know how fortunate you are.” Wiping away a single crystalline tear, with a simple wave Angelina finds herself up amongst the clouds once more. Watching the man sleep below her. This was going to be her hardest assignment, how did one watch over that which their heart yearned for and yet not be able to have it?

After a long, long dream, Daniel's eyes slowly opened. He was lying on his couch, the fireplace crackling warmly, and a blanket was covering him.

How did... this happen? Daniel thought groggily, the cobwebs of sleep still heavy in his mind. He didn't want to get up just yet, but Daniel knew that something was wrong.

How did I get here, the last thing I remember... I was out in the storm. Daniel wearily turned his head towards the fireplace.

It was nearly out, but a few flames still danced about merrily.

Did someone bring me here? I don't remember making it here, or lighting the fireplace. Wait... Daniel's thoughts returned to his dream, and his dream, a voice, a beautiful voice, was telling him to walk, to follow her, then to sleep.

Was there someone else with me? Did someone find me in the storm?

"Hello? Is anyone there?" Daniel called out, wondering if perhaps the woman was in another part of the cabin.

When nobodyanswered, Daniel became all the more confused.

Somehow, I made it back to the cabin, and someone, a girl, she saved me. But how is that possible?

Daniel had never been a religious person, although his parents were, especially his mother. He could easily picture her by her bedside, still kneeling like she did ever since she was a child, with her hands clasped together, praying for his safety.

Thank you mom, so much. I think you and someone upstairs just saved my life.

Slowly sitting up, Daniel let his booted feet clunk to the floor, and he bowed his head forward and shut his eyes. It was the first time he ever prayed in his entire life.

Whoever saved me, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for saving me. Daniel prayed slowly, unsure of what he was supposed to say.

Then something else nagged at his mind.

...I shall be here when you need me...

Daniel had heard those words in his dream, and he wondered if it was truly a dream he had at all.

Thank you, whoever you are. I am glad that someone is watching over me. And... Daniel chuckled quietly as he thought of himself an idiot when he added this last part in.

You sounded very beautiful.

Daniel laughed again and shook his head, and stood up to remove his layers of clothing. After he had peeled off every stitch of clothing other then his long johns, Daniel went to take a shower.

I hope that the tub still isn't leaking. I keep telling dad we need a rubber bath mat in there besides that stupid little tea towel. Daniel thought as he shut the bathroom door and removed his long johns before stepping into the shower.

Turning on the water, he adjusted the temperature and when it was warm enough, shut the curtain and pulled the shower knob out. Streams of hot water jetted against his body, soaking his short black hair, tiny little rivers running down his slender yet athletic body.

Daniel began to rub his chest and stomach with soap, lathering suds all over himself. He wished that he had a tight and cut body like some of the guys he saw at the gym or on TV, but he was still lean and thought he looked okay without a shirt on. At least he wasn't as hairy as some guys he saw, who looked like they were part bear. His body hair was barely there, but he didn't look smooth like a woman. Daniel thought it was just the right amount.

It's too bad it was just a dream... the way that girl sounded, I'd have loved to have met her. Daniel thought idly.

“But he didn’t die, I was there he is safe, warm and now I am watching him like I was assigned to. Yes I know I was late and he was close but I wouldn’t have let him die, no one should have to meet the Dark One.”

Shivering despite herself again not because of the cold, her memories of the Dark One weren’t pleasant ones. The promises made never kept, it was just a good thing that she hadn’t done anything bad in her lifetime. If she had she would have walked beside the Dark One claiming lives, always being cold and alone.

Catching the nightmare Angelina gives herself a mental shake trying to concentrate on what is being said to her. She had been wrong for waiting so long to go to Daniel, she should have been there to help before he had collapsed. Even knowing this Angelina didn’t like being be-rated or the shame that she felt.

“Honestly it will not happen again I promise, please don’t reassign someone else to the man. I can do this, it is the assignment that was given to me and I prefer to see it through.” Daniel’s prayer reaches her ears from below her. Whoever saved me, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for saving me.

“See he is even praying he has never done that. He knows how close he was and now he is a believer, I couldn’t have done that badly if he is saying all those kind words. He has even thanked his mother which I believe is a good point in my favor.”

His next words though caused her breath to catch in her throat, Thank you, whoever you are. I am glad that someone is watching over me. And... You sounded very beautiful.

Feeling her face flush with embarrassment, but enjoying the pleasant glow within her. He thought her voice was beautiful, he had heard her and thought her voice beautiful. Never before had a man say anything so lovely to her in life and now that she was a Angel it was to late.

“I won’t I promise you will see I will watch over him and care for him as he needs me. I will not let you or him down, Yes Sir that is my promise or my wings.” Her wings, had she just said that? If she gave up her wings she would be just another Angel always bound to the Heavens never to step foot upon the earth again. Now why would she promise on her wings, the concept amazed and scared her.

Turning Angelina moves from the room keeping an ear open upon Daniel while he undresses. Listening to anything that might come as a danger to her ward, she had to keep her wings. She didn’t want to just be another No name Angel who sat upon the clouds watching and wishing for a chance like hers.

Sitting down upon the chair in her small room Angelina looks down through the clouds again. Watching the man Daniel step into the shower, blushing furiously that she would be watching a man unawares. This just seemed wrong in some way and yet she found herself peeking in to look upon the naked man’s body.

His lines were perfect just the sort of guy she would have fallen for, and fallen hard at that. Sleek, very little bulk she hated guys who were hard with muscles they just didn’t look like they would be comfortable snuggling on the couch with. But Daniel’s body wasn’t anything like that, if she had been able to give her opinion to someone she would have said he was a perfect specimen. But she wasn’t so she sat there watching and dreaming of a time where she might have been.

Sighing deeply after a few minutes more of watching Angelina decides that maybe she has watched him long enough. Just as she turns a shadow below her catches her attention, it was the Dark One again. She heard the calls the voices whispering to him to her, why was he there how could Daniel be in danger there she wonders.

Looking about the smaller bathroom she spots the danger, a small hand towel laid upon the floor. As she watches the towel moves about leaving enough tile exposed, then water splashes upon the floor where the towel would have been. Making the floor extremely slick and dangerous.

“Noooo!” In the blink of an eye Angelina teleports herself to the bathroom, quickly looking about her for something more to help keep Daniel safe. Sending a silent prayer, “please stay in the shower but a moment longer.”

Just as the water turns off, Angelina waves her hand using the towel that Daniel had laid out for himself she dries the floor. Then grabbing from the air a nice but slightly worn bath mat she sets it upon the floor in front of the bath tub. Waving her hand to become invisible just as Daniel opens the shower door and steps out safely onto the mat.

Breathing a huge sigh of relief, the voice his voice comes to her as if magically. “Tsk Tsk, little one you should have just let me have him. I would promise to make it quick for him, you can not be there to watch over him all the time. Unless you were say to stay on earth here with him. But since I know you can not do that maybe you should just give him up to me now and go back to lazing around up there on your clouds.”

Angelina moves back giving Daniel room to move from the shower, even though he could not see her. If he were to step into her person he would feel something but it would be a feeling of her being there. Nothing more, just a sense that someone was there watching him.

Afraid to take her eyes from him she stands and stares at the man before her, his hair slightly damp. The water running rivulets slowly down his chest, his stomach to disappear into a darker patch of hair framing a very nice specimen of the male anatomy. He’s gorgeous Angelina decides as he dries the water from his body. If she had been alive and able she would have offered to dry him off. Forget the towel, her body, tongue, hands would have taken the pleasure. And now she understood the statement that she had never wanted to be a towel so bad in all her life let along her death.

As Daniel moves around Angelina moves staying just one step out of his way, watching him step before the mirror she turns to see herself reflected within its depths. Just as her surprised moss green eyes meets Daniels sensually dark ones, she feels herself being pulled by the sight of them totally forgetting to move. Gasping with her shock she realizes that he is seeing her behind him watching.

“Oh no I forgot,” Saying this out loud she closes her eyes thinking quickly what to do, coming up with the only answer that she could. Snapping her fingers Angelina shimmers and shifts moving from the spot behind Daniel to stand in the now wet tub. Shaking with her shock, she had forgotten that he would see her in a reflection of the mirror. Now what was she to do, he wasn’t suppose to ever see her as she was now.

Daniel whipped around when he saw a beautiful woman with green eyes in his mirror.

Nobody was there.

"Oh no I forgot!" he heard a woman say.

That same voice... then that means.

Glancing down to the tub, he saw a never before seen bath mat.

"It WAS you... the woman with the beautiful- wait, why can't I see you?"

Oh crap cover up!

Though the shock that a woman, an invisible, gorgeous woman, was fresh in his mind, the fact that she saw him naked both embarrassed and excited him.

Angelina

Smiling to herself as she watches Daniel try to cover himself from her eyes. In just the few moments of his being naked knowing he wasn’t alone it showed greatly. His manhood had grown in size, which amazed Angelina watching how it changed in size. He would be fantastic in bed she thought to herself, but that was for mortals not for Angels.

Angelina decides she must make a choice, it wasn’t like the Heavens wouldn’t know that she had been seen, so either way her assignment was compromised. But she felt that she owed this man an explanation of why she was here.

Speaking softly on a sudden slight breeze that comes out of no where. “Daniel finish dressing I shall be awaiting you. There are things you must know before I am taken from your side. Things that will be important to you, for your safety even your life. Please hurry to me, I shall be in the front room.”

Even though she had no intentions of leaving him alone, she thought it would make him feel better to think he was now alone. Putting him at ease, then she would show to him, to let him know she meant him no harm. But on the contrary she was indeed here to save him, from himself as well as the Dark One.

Daniel seemed beside himself in his movements, what once was fluid with grace and masculinity now seemed jerky. Rushed and almost fearful, had she caused this she wondered? Sighing softly to herself Angelina begins to think that maybe a different Angel would have been better for Daniel after all.

Watching him finish dressing and reach for the handle of the door Angelina waves her small hand. Teleporting herself from the bathroom to that of the front room, taking a stand in front of the fireplace. Now the question was, would she show her wings or just the human form that she had once had? Waving her hand once again, Angelina’s wings fold silently behind her back. Out of sight but still there if need be, it wasn’t that she was ashamed of her wings, it was that she did not want to scare Daniel anymore then he might already be.

Looking down upon herself she waves her hand once more donning a simple dress of shimmering green. It would not be good for Daniel to see her as she had walked along the clouds. Dressed in barely anything but that of a Angel, which by humans standards wasn’t much.

When Daniel enters the front room Angelina snaps her fingers, knowing that soon she would lose her wings. But for this man she felt the need to let him know, for his safety and if need be then she was willing. After all that was her assignment, to protect and keep him safe. Wasn’t that what she was doing?

"Hello Daniel, my name is Angelina and I am your Guardian Angel. Please sit down we have a lot to talk about before they yank me away from you and you recieve a new Guardian." Smiling softly to him, waving my hand making myself appear before the man.

Once fully dressed, Daniel did as he was told.

Upon seeing her, Daniel wondered if it was possible to fall in love at first, no, second sight.

No, it's because she's drop dead gorgeous.

His mouth went dry and his stomach twisted into a knot. Daniel always had that problem with women he just met.

Daniel tried not to admire her beauty openly, but it was difficult.

She's like my dream girl. Daniel thought, and to a degree he WAS right.

Angelina... even her name is beautiful, and she looks way better then the actress. Wait, guardian angel? I AM dreaming... no, I died. Didn't I? Say something you moron! Daniel's thoughts raced through his mind faster then he could even comprehend them.

"Angelina... you're my angel? But I, I didn't believe in, that kind of thing. Why would I... wait, you mean you might be taken away?" Daniel said in shock, his speech low and muffled by his barely moving lips, except towards the end.

Angelina

"I am Daniel but that will more then likely come to an end soon, but I am hoping to tell you what is going on before I am taken away. Please have a seat and listen to this for it is important to you and your life. "

Moving to take a seat next to him Angelina looks directly into his Daniel's eyes. Reading what he was not saying, but only smiling as she tries to explain about the Dark One and how some people did not pay attention to the danger signals and that caused him to appear waiting for their demise.

She went on to tell him about what had happened in the blizzard and how he had come to be here at his parents cabin. "Daniel you must be careful until the Dark One gets his death he will continue to come for you. Thank your Mother for her askance she has given you a great gift. For without her you would not be given a Guardian Angel. I am sorry to say though that my time has left me, someone will come to sit with you. Please Daniel understand, I have just recieved your assignment and I would not give it up now but it is our rules that I must follow. If you had not seen me... But it is done, take care Daniel and remember beware of anything that puts you at risk."

Giving him a final wave and smile Angelina snaps her delicate little fingers, shimmering from his sight to return to the heavens. She knew that she would lose her wings for sure now, but it was well worth it. If only she were able to stay if she didn't have the rules she would keep the man safe. The Dark One would just have to find a different soul to take if she were allowed to stay and tend to Daniel.

Cursing herself Angelina walked the halls knowing that her presence was requested in the office. Stepping to the door she knocks lightly ready for the punishment she knows is to come to her. She had broken the golden rule, never allow the assignments to see their Guardians. Bowing her head she steps forward waiting, tears silently making their way down her face. If only she hadn't failed him, if only she had not come to shame.

Upon hearing her name spoke Angelina raises her head slightly, the voice was not that of the Head but of him, her boss. His voice was like no other, one that held love always, understanding for mistakes, care for those he spoke with, a thousand Angels sang softly each time he spoke. His voice was said to have brought every human within hearing distance to their knees in tears for the beauty of it, blessing all with just one small word spoken.

"But I did not fail him, it was a mistake I was doing my job. The Dark One was there he tried to take Daniel once more, there was nothing else I could do. I shall show you if you would but grant me."

Seeing the mighty hand wave to her granting her the permission she saught. Smiling graciously her thanks Angelina then waves her hand parting the clouds upon the stand before her. Blowing softly she rewinds time to just before Daniel climbed into the shower showing the towel on the floor. The movement that had caught her eye and what she had done to prevent his death. She also showed that she had indeed stepped away trying to stay out of view of the man named Daniel.

The moment came where Daniel's eyes had met hers and she had vanished to reappear in the shower, but that it had been to late. Waving her hand to dispence the rest of what had happened since to her it wasn't important. But it seemed that to the Man it was for the scene continued, showing her standing in front of the fire place, talking to Daniel. Her pleas to him to beware dangerous situations and her stating that she would stay if she could.

With a wave of his hands the cloud comes together as Angelina lowers her head, knowing that she had broken another rule and was caught doing it by her own carelessness. The whole room seemed quiet, no one moved, no one spoke. The the Angels started to sing once more and his voice brought tears to her eyes.

"If I could do this without worrying about all the rules I would not leave Daniel's side. He would be protected, I would not fail him or you, but the problem is I must always worry about rules. Rules that I understand were made for our protection as much as theirs but rules sometimes must be broken and this is a special case. If you must take my wings, please do so now, if I am never to walk upon the earth again then so be it. But please take care of Daniel, please give him the best Guardian that we have. The Dark One wants him badly, and I have a feeling that he will not stop until he gets him."

Then his voice spoke bringing her to her knees once more, this time not with tears of sorrow but this time with thankfulness. He spoke with understanding and truth, he spoke and she heard him, knowing that this was her last chance and she would not fail him nor Daniel. Angelina sat there listening to all that was said the rules that she had to follow, what she would be allowed to do and what she no longer could do. Shaking her head understanding that now she was indeed special Angelina finally stood. Smiling broadly to him, then stepped lightly from the room knowing that all eyes followed the Angel that had been granted her wish.

Now it would be up to Daniel....

Listening to Angelina explain really opened his eyes, and his heart. He decided almost immediately that he'd tell no one, and that he would convert as soon as possible.

Then she said she had to go.

"No, wait!" Daniel cried, but she was gone.

Daniel fell to his knees and converted immediately, begging for mercy for Angelina and for her to be returned to him.

I'll tell no one, not a soul. She saved me twice already, it was an accident! Forgive her, please! I... I can't take care of myself, not yet. Please, let her come back. She was beautiful and kind and sweet and I really, really want to see her again. Others say they talk with angels, why can't I? I swear I'll never tell anyone. Please! Daniel was cut off as a powerful gust blew the front door open. He ran to shut it.

Angelina swept through the halls quickly what had been hours for her were but mere minutes for the human world. But those mere minutes could mean life or death for Daniel, causing her to fail with her assignment. The shock of what had happened still fresh in her mind, no one that she knew of had been granted such a privilege as this.

Taking a last look about her, Angelina had a feeling it would be a while before she returned and she wanted everything in order. Then with a smile and a wave she descended to earth placing herself back in front of the fireplace prepared to explain to Daniel what was happening. Just as the shadow gushes open the door with a mighty blow. Sending hundreds of tiny ice shards threw the air to hit Daniel square in the chest, laying him out flat.

“Noooooo! Daniel don’t!!” The Dark One’s laughter was enough to let her know that her warning had come to late, she had failed. She had once again been late and this time had cost Daniel.

“He’s mine now little one, and you have failed in your assignment. Go back to the Heavens little one, his soul and life are mine and there is nothing you are able to do about it.”

Angelina stood there frozen in time for but a second and then like lightning she struck slamming the door hard enough to shatter glass if there had been any. Rushing to Daniel’s side being as careful as she is able she turns him over. Staring into his glorious sightless brown eyes, fear shot through her unsure what to do. Angelina begins to cry thinking of how she had been so sure that she would be the one to save him.

“Daughter breath for him, he is not gone yet, breath and give him life you have not failed. Call to him Angelina, bring him back to you it is not wrote in the clouds that you fail this time but succeed.” The sound of a thousand Angels begins to sing for her, as she listens quietly calming herself to his words. The words of their maker, the one who gave life, his loving voice that held such tenderness as he told her what to do.

Taking a deep breath Angelina leans forward placing her lips to Daniel’s feeling warmth yet still there. So soft were his lips, she couldn’t remember ever feeling lips like his before. Exhaling forcefully into his lungs she felt the gift of life fill him from her soul, the soul of an Angel. Placing a shaking hand against his throat she feels the shallow pulse begin to strengthen, placing a ear to his chest she hears the amazing sound of his blood rushing through his heart. Smiling softly Angelina sends a silent thank you to the Heaven’s knowing she is not alone in her assignment.

“Daniel come to me, follow my voice and open your eyes, it is time to awaken from your dream. Come to me Daniel you are safe and within the arms of love, live Daniel for it is wrote in your stars that you must do so.”

Moving back from him she begins to brush lightly upon his forehead calling to him softly, soothing the furrow upon his brow. “Daniel, you called me I am here please come back to me. It is Angelina, Daniel open your eyes I wish to talk to you.”

I...

I...

I've been seeing a lot of lights lately.

What happened? Why am I so cold? Who IS that.

Angelina?

I'm coming. I'm coming! I'm coming Angelina!

Daniel gasped hungrily for air and coughed violentally.

Daniel wrapped his arms around Angelina and held her close to him.

"I'm the luckiest guy in the world... to have you Angelina... I don't know how I can ever thank you."

She smells nice. Daniel thought, feeling
odd that that would be the first thing he'd think of after nearly dying, again.

“Short breaths Daniel, relax you are ok I am here now and well I will be for a while. At least until you are out of danger that is.” Surprised at his reaction Angelina laughs softly, Daniels arms felt wonderful around her, and she couldn’t think of anywhere else she would rather be. Slipping her arms around him she hugs him back but just for a moment, otherwise she would be lost in the feel of him next to her and that wasn’t doing her assignment.

"I'm the luckiest guy in the world... to have you Angelina... I don't know how I can ever thank you."

His words even though they made her blush with pleasure also brought up another point for her. “Did I not warn to you to be careful the Dark One will not give up on you and he does not play fair. He almost had you this time, and then where would I be, a Guardian without an assignment and no wings. Guess its just a good thing I came back and will be here with you for a while longer.”

Pulling back out of Daniels embrace Angelina stands pulling him up next to her. Looking to the door she waves her hand forgetting that it would no longer work for her. Sighing with frustration she walks over to the door placing a bar across the lock. Before turning back to Daniel saying, “This place is cold shall we get a fire going and then maybe see if there is any food in the place I think I am hungry.”

And indeed she was cold as well as hungry, she had forgotten how cold, cold could be. Shivering slightly she starts adding wood to the fireplace, thinking how nice it would be to sit in front of a open fire and enjoy Daniel’s company. The thought of having to actually eat food again was a pleasant one as well. She hadn’t been hungry in some years and this new feeling in her body told her that she would love to eat once again.

Even though she still had some basic powers, her wings, and menial things were gone. She would have to learn to be human until her assignment was done. That had been the deal, she would still have her magic to protect and care for Daniel. But in this form she could even die a second time, pain would be real as would hunger, cold, fear, happiness. All of it would be hers to feel once more.

“Daniel do you have any comfortable throw blankets to place on the couch. I was thinking that after dinner we could maybe sit and talk for a little while.” So busy was she that she failed to see the look upon Daniel’s face.

Daniel found it odd that his guardian angel would, act like she were human. She was cold, and hungry.

"Uhh... yeah. You eat food? It'll take awhile though. There's a comforter in my room if you'd like. And some of my mom's... actually, you might prefer my sister's clothes. Her room is across from mine, near the bathroom. I'll start the fire. Carefully." Daniel said with a smile, and went to get some logs for the fire.

Throwing three logs and some old newspapers into the smoldering fireplace, Daniel took the matches lying on top of the fireplace and struck one. As the flames spread inside the fireplace, Daniel swore he saw a face and could hear his name being called.

"Screw off, and leave us alone." Daniel muttered, then stood up and turned to leave. He stopped quickly, turned, and cleaned up the area around the fire and shut the screen.

I wonder if Angelina can do other things humans do...

Daniel was so lost in thought that he didn't bother to knock on his sister's door, opening it and seeing Angelina just as he finished his thought.

She's so beautiful...

Daniel never imagined an angel could look like her.

Angelina

Nodding her appreciation Angelina moves through the cabin quietly, experiencing for the first time things that she had thought never to feel again. The cold and hunger were just the beginning, but she had asked for this and she would see it through. Up the stairs she went checking each room as she goes, opening and closing the doors until she finds the room that she believes to be Daniel’s sisters room. Stepping quietly inside she begins to riffle through the garments within the dresser and then the closest pulling out a simple sweater and jeans. Thinking they would fit her better then the dress she was now in, it had been a while since she had actually worn such clothing and thought that they would feel good against her skin.

Slipping the dress off of her slim, lush body she turns to see her reflection in the mirror behind her. Stopping to look upon herself, she hadn’t seen herself in what seemed forever, never needing to brush her hair though she did at times, never having to bathe, never thinking about how her body would look to a man. There had never been a need to, in Heaven they didn’t have showers and bathes. With the wave of a hand an Angel would be clean and groomed properly with in a matter of a second. But here like she was now, she would need to do such things now.

Turning this way and that, she looks upon the curves that she now possesses, heavy breasts, lush hips, small slender waist. Her hair curling softly about her face and just hanging long enough to brush along her bare shoulders. She had long legs and even now after so long they were still tanned and toned. Smiling to herself Angelina steps naked over to the dresser, looking through the items on top finding a soft smelling perfume of some name she didn’t bother to read. Spraying just a small bit upon her wrists, between her ample breasts, and then touching some to the backs of her knees. Leaving the soft lingering scent upon her skin. She moves back across the room to stare at herself once more in the mirror. Not really wanting to dress just yet, but instead just to take in the human form that she had lost so long ago. Grabbing the sweater she slips it over her head pulling her arms through. Though the garment was long coming down to hug her just past her hips it fit her ample breasts, forming the lines and curves perfectly. Leaving a deep V down the front for a enticing view of cleavage.

Hearing the door open she turns to see Daniel in the doorway, his mouth hanging open and his eyes glued to her. “I’m sorry you said that I could.... I found this sweater and thought it would be warm... Daniel is everything ok? I’m sorry if I took your words wrong I can take it back off if you like and put back on my gown.”

Angelina didn’t think about how she must have looked, the sweater only barely covering her lower body. Outlining the body underneath to perfect enhancement of her curves, leaving her long toned tanned legs uncovered, and a teasing view of where those legs joined. Something in the way Daniel’s eyes kept roaming over her made Angelina blush, her body warming up as his eyes made a slow leisurely trip up and down her body, his eyes finally coming to rest upon her eyes.

"No it's... I'm sorry. I should have knocked. It's... uh, do you know, uhm." Daniel knew he should look away, but he just couldn't tear his eyes away from Angelina's eyes. The rest of her looked amazing, especially her legs, but Daniel felt he could stare at her gorgeous green eyes forever.

"I'm... guessing you're sort of human now. I don't know if you've ever been human before but... women who look like you cause men like me too... you look great." Daniel murmered softly, swallowing hard.

Can she...

Daniel stood quietly, debating with himself if he should leave or not.

"You're... my guardian angel... so... we... can't..." Daniel paused, then finally looked at the floor.

"What did you want to eat?"

Kissing an angel... come on Daniel, grow up. She's here to protect you, not sleep with you.

Angelina

"I'm... guessing you're sort of human now. I don't know if you've ever been human before but... women who look like you cause men like me too... you look great."

Blushing with his words, no one had ever said anything so nice to her before that she could ever remember. But at the same time he seemed confused and that worried Angelina, she was here to make his life easier not complicate it in anyway. Smiling softly she replies slowly thinking about what to say before she said it. This way there would be no misunderstanding as to her meaning behind any of what she had to say to him.

“Yes Daniel I have been human before, and yes I am now basically human once again, with some special abilities. I will feel cold and hunger, things that were normal to me, are now lost. But I promise I will get use to being human once more. I am no longer able to snap my fingers and wish us away on a whim, but do not worry I am still able to protect you.”

Still he seemed as if something was bothering him and Angelina found herself at a loss as to what it might be. Watching him she continues to listen to him trying to interpret what it was that was bothering him. "You're... my guardian angel... so... we... can't..."

Understanding finally dawns on her, oh man she hadn’t thought about that, her eyes flew to him. Seeing his head drop to cover his expression, it had to be, she didn’t have an answer to that one. Could she, would it affect what the Man had said, he hadn’t said she couldn’t. But he hadn’t said she could either, and now that she thought about it. Would she want to?

Looking at Daniel, Angelina answers her own question.. Yes she would if she could, maybe she had better ask just to find out. It wasn’t like she would get pregnant or catch anything. She was an Angel.. Angel’s didn’t get sick or hurt, they couldn’t catch diseases or plagues. Before she could answer him though she heard him ask, "What did you want to eat?"

Shoot she had really messed things up this time hadn’t she, thinking this she shakes her head still watching Daniel. He looked gorgeous standing in the door way, his body incased in clothing but still nicely visible to her gaze. His head bowed, a look of suppressed confusion upon his face. Looking to the ceiling silently calling upon the clouds for an answer. Waiting quietly her gaze falls once more on Daniel, did he really want her? In the days before when she had been human most men like him never looked at her twice and now she was being asked if she could.

Smiling softly as she hears the voice of a thousand angels come to her, answering to her dilemma. Standing and moving over in front of Daniel she places a gentle finger to his chin lifting his face so that he has to look at her. “Daniel it has been so long since I have.. Well lets just say I do believe I might need to relearn something's. But as to your unspoken question here is your answer.” Placing her lips to his Angelina for the first time in a long time kisses a man.

Daniel had been becoming more and more nervous, unsure what Angelina would think of him if she knew what he was thinking.

And then she came close, and again Daniel noted how beautiful she was. Her beautiful green eyes, her amazing face...

Stop it! Daniel chastised himself.

She's not interested in y-

She kissed him. Angelina's touch was so gentle and soft. He had been so wrapped up in his own guilt that he didn't register till now what she was saying.

Slowly, Daniel's hands entwined as the two continued their close mouthed kiss. It was nice, and loving, the kind of kiss a lover would give before saying goodbye.

Daniel always imagined what his first kiss with someone he cared for would be like. He enjoyed it, it was much better then the spit and tongue ones he had in high school.

None of those girls cared for him, and the feeling was mutual. He -cared-, but not in the way he had come to care for Angelina.
