We have also found this to be true. There are a lot of couples out there looking for "notches" for their bedpost. Being friends as well as playmates is very important. We have met a lot of great people in our search for "that special couple" but haven't quite found the one yet. We do have a couple of couples in mind though. Sassy, since I am inexperienced in the lifestyle, and I fear I have something to lose, I wonder: what harm? Am I on the right track here?
I am sure that just as many are curious but will not take the plunge, many would venture into the lifestyle but feel as I do. Swapping intimate partners may be like playing Russian roulette with my marriage.

I guess my insecurity makes up the difference. I am a relatively poor man. I don't bar hop, para sail, fly to Rio for the weekend, or even have a membership at the gym to create that six pack ab.
Perhaps , tho, if I make my life more exciting to my wife, I won't worry about losing her to another.

Sex seems to have a liberating effect on people. I don't think it works as well the other way around. That is: liberated people don't get that way by having sex. Think about it, this is not the connundrum it appears to be. Just ironic bootstrapping.

First of all...I think you took me to literally..I was trying to be nice....like a wish to be well sorta thing....but at the same time you appear to be expressing certain fears and insecurities in your life and i think that before you dive into any type of group or mulitple sexual relations with your wife you need to get to a comfortable secure place with yourself..otherwise you wont enjoy it. It took me a long time to get where I am.....so give it time and dont get to frustrated.

Still, when one fantacizes the fun, it's easy to get a head of onself. Was there a time when you felt you might not be able to measure up to other potential partners of your gender? I think competition enters here. In some sense I think a woman could just be sluttier than the next and still get to be the center of attention.
