Grocery shelves are empty, gas prices are rising, inflation is sky high, and you can barely even find a COVID test… but thankfully Joe Biden is here with ideas: calling Americans racist if they want basic things like voter ID.

The all talk, no results President.

Latest Labor Department report out today: Inflation jumped 7% year over year in December

And it was all put into play by the failed responses of the Trump administration in addition to its refusal to transition properly into the next presidency.

The government this morning has pegged inflation at 7%. The thing to remember is the government calculations used to determine inflation do not include energy or food prices, the bulk of individual expenses. It's probably more like 10%. Joe Biden is more than likely plotting a course that will take us into Carteresque inflation territory.

Big lie. The left can never own its incompetence.

And no US president, 45 or 46, can truly counter global conditions that affect the US as well as many other countries.

Fuel prices are set by international supply and demand and they affect supply chains.

What is happening in America is also affecting European countries and countries in the developing world far more seriously.

I haven't been able to find my $10 pack of juicy fruit anywhere.

I've increased my savings also so I can afford my bourbon

It's rough...I rely on both of those things to live.

Not true Ogg. 40% of the US Dollars in circulation are being circulated in foreign countries and are used in many foreign countries as a hard currency. So any inflation of the Dollar will affect those international economies circulating the US Dollar as a medium of exchange or a hard currency:

Irrelevant to shortages in the US and increased fuel prices.

No. It is the world shortage of oil is why the price is up, and part of that is Russia playing games in Europe.

In the long run, we have to shift away from fossil fuels. In the short run, there is a worldwide shortage that increases the price. Neither President has any impact on the worldwide fuel price. Under both Presidents, the US has enough of its own. There may be a shortage of processing capacity and the hacking attack on pipelines hasn't helped distribution.

But since the world price of oil is made in US dollars, the US oil companies have been screwing Americans while they can. Their production costs haven't increased but what they can charge for it means more profits for them.

My comments are directed at inflation, not so much supply chain problems caused by increased regulation, etc. BTW if that 7% inflation figure holds, prices will double in ten years, and don't think it can't last that long.

so as soon as Biden comes in there is a shortage!

I lived in Brazil in the 1980s. You ain't seen nothin'.

I don't know about a world-wide shortage... but I've seen 100s of ships sitting off the coast of California waiting to unload. Presumably there is stuff in those containers.

Californians call that "Progress"....LOL

I was in what was then Yugoslavia in 1962. The supermarkets were about the size of Mom and Pop convenience stores and most shelves were empty. If a delivery arrived, a queue formed in minutes.

Then you live in a shithole state. My local Safeway shelves aren’t empty and gas has been down since the inevitable summer rise in gas prices. Jun-sept. Gas was 3.65 per gallon, I just paid 3.11 today.
