It has been observed (mostly by me) that I can't resist a play on words, so I thought this might be a fun thread to start.

Doug was a bright guy who loved to play chess. Since he was in college and active in the school chess club, he often had friends stopping by to play. Because he was so smart, he could usually hold his own in a game even while talking on the phone at the same time.
He had noticed, however, that this was more difficult against some opponents than others. His most formidable adversaries were the Brazilian members of the chess club.
Even against them, he could usually play and win while also chatting on the phone... except when he was talking to his overly excitable friend Seth. Somehow, Seth's urgently inane chatter would always distract him just enough to cause him to make a key error that the Brazilian player would pounce on, and Doug would wind up getting trounced.
After having this happen to him at least half a dozen times, he finally realized that he should never match wits with a Brazilian when Seth was on the line.
