I heard that Asparagus is the most popular vegetable written about in cooking light, and, as a vegetable which must be hand picked, is likely not to be produced in the US much longer because of the global economy making US labor costs too high.

I love asparagus.

Plus when they go to seed they are kind of like paint brushes.
