Today is my first day at Lit, and I must admit I was quite eager to jump into the forums. I have already done so, posting here and there until I realized how rude it must seem to barge in without properly introducing myself. I shall rectify that presently.

I am DanseMacabre (or DM if you prefer), and it's lovely to meet you all. How shall I proceed? I consider myself to be a lifelong student of human nature, an impartial observer of the behaviours and base impulses which tear us as people apart time and time again. I am an undertaker, and therefore I am surrounded by death and tragedy on a daily basis. I know nothing else.

When I am not working, I am fond of music and the written word. I have not yet attempted to write anything of my own, but I have enjoyed many stories in the Erotic Horror genre along with the occasional Fantasy and Romance piece.

Welcome to the AH!

:rose:

(My apologies - it's far too early for me to be more eloquent. Or maybe it's just that I was up too late? At any rate, welcome!)

Hello and welcome to the AH, DM :) It's a pleasure to have you here and I hope you're enjoying the threads -we're an easy going bunch, mostly insane (but not very dangerous) and we are always happy to welcome someone new aboard :D

I thank you, English Lady. You are a lovely rose indeed. :rose:

Thank you again, LilRedJammies. I am blushing from your compliment.

Aurora and RGraham666, I thank you and I am amazed that I am here amongst so many established writers.

Welcome DanseMacabre, feel free to ask any questions, get to be friends, public or private.

Take nothing I say seriously if it insults you, take the good and leave the rest, that's my intention.

Yay! So glad to have a new Litster posting... hello and welcome! We were going to compile a "Newbies Guide to the Author's Hangout" but I think it's still stewing on the backburner. For now, enjoy yourself and keep posting!

DanseMacabre, your full handle is too mellifluous and... creepy.. to shorten! ;)
It's a pleasure to meet you!

Greetings Recidiva, McKenna and Stella_Omega.

I thank you humbly for the warm welcome. I intend to make the most of my time here.

Welcome DM, anyone who quotes 'Deep Thoughts' can't be all bad! ;)

Glad to have you here! :)

Thank you, AngeloMichael. I am overjoyed to have crossed the threshhold at last.

Hello and welcome. :rose:

I also love your quote in your sigline. I think I like you! :D

Seconding Lou's praise of the sig quote. Plus I do like your handle - named after the song?

Welcome to the AH. Always nice to have an extra personality around.

The Earl

I appreciate the welcome, Earl. Indeed it is. I am very fond of Saint-Saëns.

Greetings returned.
Since we are on compliments, I quite like the name but lack the sophistication of the lad Earl, I thought you'd just spelt dance wrong, in which case, as a writer, you'll fit in perfectly. What tartan are the Abre's?

hehe...Danse Macabre

Dance of Death.

Stephen King wrote a book named this.

Lots of music named after it. Good music!
