Hi, I'm new here. This is my first time on the forum, so I hope not to inadvertently step on any toes. I came here to research erotica for a writing exercise I was challenged to undertake and I was very impressed with much of the writing I found here. Just thought I would stick around and enjoy the place now. Looks like a lot of fun.

Nice site, and a very active forum. That's good to see.

Active's one word for it ;)

Welcome to lit, and welcome to the AH *grins*

Just don't ask MG The Question, and don't call Svenskaflicka 'Sven', and I'm sure you'll be just fine ;)

Welcome! *welcoming hugs and all*

Pull up a chair, enjoy a laugh or two, and possibly even learn something.... *grin* I always seem to.

Whisper :rose:

Thank you for the welcome and the advice. I'll keep that in mind.:)

Hi Boota, welcome to the Author's Hangout! :)

My only piece of advice, throw yourself in and go with the flow. You will learn a lot here, not only about erotica but also about life, love and the universe.

Hello friend

Hello Boota welcome to the mad house, newbies buy the beer, mine's a pint of heavy:D

As the others have said, come in a stay a while, there are very few rules other than those mentioned above, mainly the beer:D

pops..........

Hi there Boota

Enjoy. :)

Be inspired, irritated, outraged, inspired, p***ed off and, did I say inspired?

These gal's and guy's put great words on the page, encouraging and supporting others with ambition.
You are in good company.

Will's (Still relatively new here)

Hola, Boota! Do stick around, teach us some new tricks, eh?

Perdita :rose:

Wills, I declare you no longer a newbie, esp. given you're a NaNo-ite.

Greetings and felicitations, Boota.

Welcome to the Monkey House. :D

Don't let them kid you. There are no real Rules here!

Not like gravity
("The Earth sucks!" )

or "Don't marry your brother!"
(Escalates problems: The Mother you can't get along with, is now also your Mother-in-Law  )

The Rules here are more like survival skills.
("No swimming in the Crocodile's Lagoon." "Don't tease the Cobras." "Elephants have the right -of-way." :( )

Nothing formal, merely life and death suggestions.

Dear Bo,
It isn't necessary to invent excuses for coming here. Let's face it, you were looking for smut, and you found it. Welcome.

Welcome Boota!

Enjoy the insanity and let us know when you submit your first work. Then be sure to ask how long before it's posted - all newbies need to be sucked into that vortex. Just so MG can continue to polish her reply.

Lime
Welcome!

Hi Boota, Some advice that will make many happy, MG loves that question it is her only purpose for staying here. I sincerly hope you would not let her down. That and ask her what exactly is a "Cleaveland Steamer"? She will go into some long expalnation just humor her I know it can be tedious and bland but it will make her feel good to be wanted/ needed by the newbie.

I think many of us here feel like family and like to see the sheep happy.

Phildo is soft for the newbie!

Hey Boota,

Welcome to the AH. I am new around here too. You just kind of have to jump in with both feet (or maybe that would be boots in your case).

Thank you all for the great welcome and the advice. I intend to jump right in and try to make myself at home. I've already got my shoes off. :)

Lime, I have already submitted a story. I'm not going to ask how long until it might be published. (Sounds like a trap.) I'm not worried about that. It will either make the cut or it won't. It was my first, and so far only, attempt at erotica. I have another story planned, but the time issue is killing me right now.

Mathgirl, I know it might sound like an excuse, but that really isn't the case. I let some people read one of my stories and one of the girls asked if I could write erotica. I didn't know, I had never read any erotica. The web search turned up this site and I found not only good smut, but good writing. The story I was here researching for is the one that I have submitted. Nothing wrong with a little smut. Or a lot for that matter.

Gauchecritic, I'm not in disguise at all. In fact, I have no secrets. Being an open book might be a little boring, but that's just me.

Nice to meet all of you, and thanks again for welcoming me so graciously. I think I'm going to like it here. Even if I have to by the beer.

:)

Hey Pops,

What's a heavy?

My beer of choice is dark, oozing and commonly used for paint remover. In other words, the stronger the better.

Fool for the stout, porter, etc.

Room temperature oatmeal stout.....*drool*

Oh....shit....sorry.

Hey Boota.

Welcome.

I'm The Fool. The only thing I take seriously is whiskey, cigars and women. I especially take the women seriously around here 'cause they are smart, witty, intelligent, learned, sexy, beautiful, sweet and they can kick your ass in a heartbeat. I especially take Lauren Hynde serious because she sometimes carries a Glock. Killer Muffin is deceptive, because she carries something that looks like a water pistol, but I am convinced it is loaded with something caustic.

Anyway best of luck, roll with the punches and take it all with a grain of salt.

Fool

*L* Stout, the magic word...

Can we hijack the thread and talk about beer, then?

Some of the local breweries up here are just coming out with their winter ales. Red Hook Brewery, in particular, has a Winter Hook that's like a dark foamy milkshake ........

And can be used as a paint thinner.

P.S. Oh hey, welcome and all Boota.
