Despite what the GOP thinks the Confederate Flag is not the flag of the US (get a fascist GOP regime in place and it will be accepted as the other US flag, watch). The confederate flag is not about pride, it is the flag a) of treason and those who toiled under that flag were traitors and b) it mysteriously disappeared from all over and only started being flown again when civil rights legislation and legal actions started happening in the 1930's, the biggest surge happened when *gasp* they tried to pass anti lyching legislation , tells you all you need to know about the confederate flag.
