Stockwell Day is no more.

Lets just hope he fades into obscurity and doesn't mimic his faovrite president (clinton) and keep rewriting history

Hopefully this Harper guy will be better.
Wont stick his foot in his mouth like day and chretien

I'm going to miss good ol'Wetsuit Day, he always brought so much humor to my days: selflessly humiliating himself every time he opened his mouth, just so that we, his beloved fellow Canadians, could have a good laugh. *sniff* So few politicians show this kind of devotion to public morale anymore. By Cromwell, we'll miss you baby!

from today's Globe and Mail

. . . But Mr. Harper pledged to give Mr. Day an important role in the party, noting he is one of the most experienced politicians on the Alliance benches.

"I certainly want to be able to use that [experience]," he said. "We need all the help we can get."

Mr. Day, 51, can now retreat somewhat from the bruising hurly-burly of national politics, while still collecting an MP's salary of $130,000 a year.

Equal parts bumbling naif, carny huckster and finger-wagging religious conservative, Mr. Day has been excoriated by the national press, the public and, most famously, dissenters in his own caucus who ultimately forced him to relinquish the leadership and submit to a re-election campaign.

But he refused, in the face of prevailing wisdom, to simply bow out gracefully. . .

Todd, there's just something about that description that makes me think of you. Love the new AV, btw--were you afraid of being to closely aligned with that Indian school with the White Guys mascot?

Stockwell Day is the furthest thing from being a finger wagging religious conservative. He only does that when he's in a bible belt area, other wise hes a glowing anti christianist ala Jean Cretin(sp?).

My guy is still white with a brief case ;)
