Am I the only one that thinks it's shit?

The Mona Lisa. Been to see it. Shite.

What about modern artists? People now, that can draw?

Classical art, nah, pile of shite, bring on the modern people!

Lots of people would say the exact opposite. Except that thing about the Mona Lisa. I hear she's pretty underwhelming.

Modern art in the precise sense (1860's to 1970's) is okay. I've always liked Francis Bacon.

Art is whatever you call art but your shite stirring now that's artful!

Art For Art's Sake, Money For God's Sake

Gimme your body
Gimme your mind
Open your heart
Pull down the blind
Gimme your love gimme it all
Gimme in the kitchen gimme in the hall
Art for arts sake
Money for Gods sake
Art for Arts sake
Money for Gods sake

Gimme the readys
Gimme the cash
Gimme a bullet
Gimme a smash
Gimme a silver gimme a gold
Make it a million for when I get old
Art for arts sake
Money for Gods sake
Art for Arts sake
Money for Gods sake

Money talks so listen to it
Money talks to me
Anyone can understand it
Money can't be beat Oh no

When you get down, down to the root
Don't give a damn don't give a hoot
Still gotta keep makin the loot
Chauffeur driven

Gotta make her quick as you can
Give her lovin' make you a man
Get her in the palm of your hand
Bread from Heaven

Gimme a country
Where I can be free
Don't need the unions
Strangling me
Keep me in exile the rest of my days
Burn me in hell but as long as it pays
Art for arts sake
Money for Gods sake
Art for arts sake
Money for Gods sake
Art for arts sake
Money for Gods sake
Art for arts sake
Money for Gods sake

You remind me so much of the poster SmoothG.

We all have different tastes.

I have to be honest, i have never really found the Mona Lisa very fascinating.

And PICASSO'S art was so OVERRATED to me!

Oh wow, a bunch of crooked lines. I much prefer landscape paintings.

Our walls and cabinets are filled with artworks from ancient to modern, worldwide. Photos, paintings, weavings, carvings, cartoons; figurative, abstract, pictorial, and stylized. People, places, things, patterns, chaos. Whatever works in the space, fine.

I learned as a photographer that viewers like portraits, images that portray the character of a subject. Human, animal, structure, vehicle, flower, rock, whatever -- people want to project personality into an image. Viewers also like seeing at least a hint of humanity. An open hand grabs more eyeballs than a starfish, even if both are stylized or abstracted.

What's best? I've faced some of the last few millennia's wonderworks up close. Whether figurative, abstract, pictorial, or stylized, they tend to be luminous, rich in ways that just don't transmit on a poster or screen. There's a reason a viewer slips into an "art trance."

View in person. Vicarious experiences just don't match.

PS: My one absolutely most favorite anywhere is in the sunny museum at the old Greek ruin in Paestum, Campagnia, Italy, east of Pompeii a few dozen klicks. The Diver Into Eternity, a soul diving into the afterlife. It's nothing on the screen, hey? But sit on the bench two meters away from it and you'll have to be dragged away after an hour or so.

I always wanted to be a great artist. I never wanted to do the social work required to gain popularity, and my ideas never come out as imagined. It is all trapped in my mind.

I still think even you people are much better.

Great Art, I don't get it.

To my mind, great art is a man eating a womans' pussy.

One further idea, another woman eating her pussy.

To me, that's great art!

Saw the mona lisa, was surprised by how small it is.

The night watch, that's a painting, yes?

Yes, I used to use that as a fb profile.

The night something, it is, can you clarify?

The one where a guy is looking at an indoor
light. Is it the Night Owl?
