Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh dead

Just heard the news a few minutes ago. As a guy about to turn 60 in a few weeks, it's really sad to be losing members of the soundtrack of my life.
RIP Phil

Simply the best bassist there ever has been. I love listening to shows and following him through the songs. He did some really crazy stuff that was fun to listen to. And then there were 3 left. I'm going to be listening to the Grateful Dead all weekend...which is pretty much what I do anyway.

I’m not now nor have ever been a dead head, but I’ve probably heard more dead than the average non dead head. 2 close friends were dead heads, one of whom was a traveling companion. Both of them would spend the summer following the dead, or hit the road each weekend to hear them. The only music in their cars were the dead.
My favorite album is American Beauty and favorite song Box of Rain which if I remember correctly was Phil Leah’s song to his dying father.
My traveling companion who was an amazing person died last year and whenever I hear box of rain it reminds me of our adventures which seems appropriate.
