A story last night on television really began to irk me even though it happened all the way over obn the opposite end of the country in Alberta Canada.
I tuned in half way through the program so you may correct me if it get some of the figures wrong.
As it goes apparently there is a street in Albert that was named something like Calgary drive even though it was no wheres near Calgary {I am not sure that what came across}, the town held a vote to rename the street to something more relational to the town. The whole town voted against renaming the street, on account of the cost of doing such a thing,end of story.....nope.
The town counsel went through and renamed the street at a reported cost of $1.2 million dollars to change every around, maps 911 and a lot of other stuff, I didn't catch it all but the thing that struck me so mad was the fact that the end total of it is that now because of this unneeded, unwanted, voted against name change, they had to put a Police helicopter in storage for a year cause there is no money in the budget for it now.
Does that strike you as wrong that a name change is more important that haveing law enforcement.
