Ive got this idea for a gotic romance. I might throw in some dark humor. I just dont know how long it should be.

To paraphrase Mozart "It should have exactly the right number of words in it." Let the story decide how long it will be. Don't leave out anything essential, and don't add pointless padding, just to arrive at some preconceived length.

BTW Your second URL in your sig has http:// twice and so does not work.

Lol, thats actually how I usually do it. I guess the better way of putting it is Im having trouble getting it going.

Humor in a Gothic Romance! I adore the concept :) Please do it.

When I have trouble "getting it going," what I usually do is write a few pages of "pre-story" that I don't intend to include. Just normal stuff that the characters might do before the story gets started. That gets the creative juices flowing, and then I can transition into the actual story.

What's the time period for the setting we're talking about here? :)

The original Gothic Romance time period was late-1700s into the first half of the 1800s, and there was a revival at the end of the 19th century.

Then we have contemporary definitions of "Gothic" which can be fun.... :D

It takes place in a contemporary now, in the city of Velocity. Where most of my stories take place. I think it might take place about the same time as my other story; Rayne Falls. Its actually a rewrite of a short story I wrote.
