This is a sort of fusion between Teen Titans, Young Justice, and other young heroes. My character will be Nightwing as usual, but a different version -- Damian Wayne.

The year is 2021. In an epic battle between Batman and unknown fighters, the caped crusader is seemingly killed. To cover up the similar disappearance of Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth and Lucius Fox quickly construct a tale of an extended vacation on a secluded island. Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce and a woman he never revealed, returns home from college early to take over for his father.

Taking on the name of Nightwing, Damian sets out to hunt down his father's killers. During his investigations, he discovers that Lex Luthor has taken a recent interest in Gotham City, and that somehow he has developed a new kind on nanotech that amplifies the energy generated by the brain, giving their goons enhanced stamina and speed, and if upgraded further, energy projection. However, such heightened states also leave them more susceptable to emotional overload.

Damian suspects Luthor's nanotech soldiers may be responsible for Batman's death, but since he has taken over the Gotham division of Cadmus Labs and has also purchased stock in Wayne Enterprises, his resources are endless and he could have all kinds of horrible experiments within the walls of his underground research facilities.

At first, Damian goes to the Justice League, but since they have become so integrated with public servants, and the government helps sponsor Cadmus Labs, they can't touch Luthor without more proof. Since the nanotech self-destructs anytime its host is killed and emits an EMF, Damian can't get the evidence he needs, and any audio or video captured becomes scrambled. He can't get close enough to the main labs on his own, so he decides to recruit other heroes and sidekicks not employed by the Justice League.

You can be an established hero or a custom one, but regardless, Damian knowns each of you in some way from past encounters. When Damian was ten, he discovered his father was Batman and despite his father's warning, he kept trying to fight crime as Robin. Worried his son would get himself killed without proper training, the boy was accepted as Batman's sidekick went on to fill the role Dick Grayson filled in an alternate reality.

After eight years fighting at Batman's side as Robin, Damian hung up the Robin suit to go off to college. During his time as a superhero, he encountered many other heroes, and has access to the registry in the Batcave. He was at college for three and a half years, but never stopped training. Shortly after his twenty-first birthday, and halfway through his senior year at MIT (tech whiz), he receives the news of his father's death and returns to Gotham without finishing the school year.

It is now May of 2021, and Damian has been back in Gotham for several months. He accepts the other heroes he recruits into his home, giving them rooms at Wayne Manor and redesigning the Batcave as the headquarters for a larger group -- the Gotham Knights.

Oh, and Princess Sexci has already claimed Starfire. And gonna see if I can get Remec to play Beast Boy or something.

Do you have any particular requirements or details you'd like in making a character? I'd like to participate; I just want to be sure I know what you're looking for.

I'd love to play although I don't know who I want to play as.

Awesome. Pick whoever you like :).

Not really. Obviously, not anyone horribly over-powered. You can take a look at my previous Titans games for ideas, or I should have my profile up shortly if you wanna look at that. Other than Nightwing, I will be playing Cyborg and Superboy, but they will come along later. Cyborg will, at first, be the most advanced nanotech soldier the Knights face, but Luthor wasn't completely successful in erasing Victor's memories, and Nightwing helps destroy the programming trying to make him kill the heroes. After that Cyborg joins the Gotham Knights. Later on, they discover a clone of Superman, who eventually joins them too, but at first he will be one of their greatest enemies.

I'm thinking about playing as terra if that's alright. And what ages are our heros going to be around?

Whatever works. They can be as young as 18 or as old as an age that still allows them to fight crime. As long as they are not part of the JLA, that's cool.

Here's my profile. Not gonna bother with the background since that is already explained in the first post.

Nightwing

Imagine this outfit, but with a black version of the hooded cloak from the image below, and a utility belt. The three faces on the side I am using as Bruce, Bruce with the Batman mask, and Damian.

Real Name: Damian Thomas Wayne
Age: 21
Birthday: January 15th
Birthplace: Gotham City, Delaware
Relationship Status: Single

Skills and Abilities

Damian Wayne possesses the peak athletic strength and endurance of a young man who regularly engages in intensive physical exercise. His martial arts skills rival those of Batman. He is a master of several martial arts disciplines and was rigorously trained by his father in everything from escapology to criminology, fencing, stealth, disguise, and numerous other combat/non-combat disciplines.

Damian is a prodigious natural athlete, possessing a peak human level of agility/acrobatic skills. Having had the finest education as Bruce Wayne's son, he fluently speaks in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese and has some knowledge of Romany and American Sign Language. He is also a brilliant and experienced strategist with superlative leadership skills. Additionally, Damian's interpersonal skills and efforts to remain in contact with other heroes makes him a master at rallying, unifying, and inspiring the superhero community, a skill in which he has surpassed his father.

While Bruce Wayne was tech-savvy and brilliant, Damian was able to understand computers and advanced technologies from a very early age, even surpassing his father. He waited until he was eighteen to go to college, and was immediately accepted into MIT. Despite leaving before graduating, Damian learned a great deal and was able to upgrade the gear and equipment in the Batcave. Thus, he has a large variety of gadgets and vehicles at his disposal. All the vehicles have on-board computers to communicate with the Batcave's new network, and each member of the Gotham Knights has a custom-built touchscreen communicator with the same capabilities. The communicators, often called ComPads, are about the size of a PSP and also have video chat capabilities. They come with battle-sturdy cases to hold them in and can be attached to utility belts.

Damian's suit is made of a Nomex fire-resistant, triple-weave Kevlar-lined material. It has excellent protection against damage, and is also insulated against electricity. Within his gloves, he has shockers that can either stun an opponent or, if applied to his cape, realligns the molecules to make it a glider.

In his utility belt, he has various altered batarangs and other small devices, as well as an extendable metal staff. If he needs to scale tall buildings, he keeps pressurized grappling guns in all his vehicles, but if the need arises and he is not near a grappling gun, he can produce a short burst of energy from his boots which will send him into the air, but due to the small size of the batteries in his heels, this can only be done once per charge. If he needs to get out of a sticky situation, he can use the burst to jump into the air, and then use his cape to glide to the closest building and grab a ledge. If he is on the ground and in danger, he can also use the burst from his boots to send enemies flying backwards. He usually keeps spare batteries in his vehicles, but saves his utility belt for more important devices

Alright. I'll get to everything (once I get a better idea of what I actually want out of it). Here's some basics as a placeholder, though

Midboss (Formerly Game Boy)

Real Name:Wyatt Russ Bertrand
Age: 19
Birthday: June 29th
Birthplace: Trois-Rivieres, Qubec, Canada
Relationship Status: Single

Skills and Abilities (Mundane)

-Fluently speaks French, English, German, and Dutch
-Above-average speed, agility, and endurence, though his strength could be said to be wanting. Product of good genes and training
- IQ of 113. Product of good genes and schooling
-Possess an uncanny talent for cooking pastas and soups. Product of getting tired of eating microwave pizzas and chinese food that Master Controller always ordered
-Minor coding and firmware repair skills. However, he can't hack well.
-World champion level video game player (Obviously)

Powers (Super)

(upgrading in near future)- Posseses abilty to scan video game data through his body to create a sort of hard hologram; real for all physical intents and purposes, but still only a construct of lights and force feilds depedent on the continious stream of data. Can form both a hard hologram around him (in essence, changing his own form, though he can only take on humanoid forms of up to 1.2 times his size, no shriking) and to create an independent object. However, he can only hold up one of each at a time (more then that leads to lagging between his mental signals and actions... which can be very dangerious), is limited to forms/tools represented in the game he's using (He can only read one game at a time) , and must maintain skin to surface contact with the disk at all times. Failure to do so would result in the hologram de-rezzing and turning him back into his own form. Large amounts of electricity can also short or distrupt the connection. When holding a humanoid form, he only obtains physical attributes and skills, not weapons or energy abilities. Also, since the hard holograms around his form are controlled my signals transmited by wire sensors in his body, he can't duplicate the muscle movements for smooth flying, fish swimming, ect. Granted, he can do these, but in a very rudimentry way; he's not going to be able to dodge very well or move very fast.

The basis of his skills comes from cold, hard science similer to what you might see on a hologram projector and disk reader. He dosen't "speak to" the code, nor can he activly read anything other then what his body and hardware are made to read; namely video games in disk format. Granted, he could physically attempt to scan, say, a Blueray disk, but having no "memory" for data or the proper scanning techniques to read it, it woulden't result in anything other then a mental error message. In essence, his body has the natural limitations of a machine when it comes to expressing the data he reads, including scratchs on the disk interfeering with abilities.

When it comes to the create indepedent objects, he has a bit more leeway. Essentially, he can create anything he wants, from a weapon to a vechile to a couple of stock minions, although larger objects will take some time to "load" into realspace (requiring his full concentration). However, just like his hard hologram, they are depedent on a flow of data to continue to exist, de-rezing if that data is distrupted. In his youth, Gameboy had to keep himself in physical contact with whatever it was he was controling (like, for istance, riding on a small dragon he created) and if he lost contact (say, fell off), the hologram would istantly de-rez. However, after going off on his own as Midboss, he discovered a little trick in order to extend his range. By forming some sort of holographic rope/leash/chain, he can keep control of many forms at once, while only keeping physical contact with their holographic leash. However, these leashes aren't indistructable, and a strong enough attack will break them to bits. However, the one thing he hasen't worked out is guns; he can make them, but that shot disappers as soon as it leaves the barrel.

Background

Born into a middle-lower class family near the banks of the mighty river St. Lawrence, nobody would have expected anything great from him; other then, perhaps, a promising career in academia later in his childhood. His father being a moderately successful deli owner and his mother a housewife, the family had been facing dire economic straits soon after his birth after issues with the local economy. On the verge of bankruptcy, they noticed a flier looking for test subjects; very young test subjects, as a matter of fact, on one fateful day and, otherwise out of options, they consented.

The product that was to be tested, the brainchild of a rather shady corporation operating out of New Brunswick (actually, a cover story for more… dark motives by a certain criminal syndicate). When he was brought into that great brick building, parents reluctantly handing him over to the professors in charge (although the inside the building showed nothing amiss), that was when his destiny took a turn for the better. Bringing him into the laboratory, using remote controlled micro wire, a complex system of relays and circuits where woven into his brain, and a simpler, but just as important, system through his entire body. The product was designed, or so they where told, to allow human control of robots, supposedly for military and ABC clean-up purposes. However, it required the brain to grow around it in order to function properly (hence, the need for a young child). After the long, heart pounding surgery, they where told to bring him back in three years time, so they could do the proper testing.

Over the next three years, Wyatt showed amazing cognitive development, constantly testing at the level of a child two years older then him after the first year. Of course, this was as much by effort of his parents as anything else, but there was something rather unusual about the boy… something the secret watchers for the corporation started to notice. When he was finally brought back in, the tests came back with almost perfect results; the robots duplicated his movements perfectly, even from a decent distance away, not matter how complex it was. Indeed, if the robot was physically incapable to doing it, they would try anyway until they broke. Of course, knowing they had stumbled upon something great, sought to further study the boy… even if it was entirely secret. You might have caught glimpses of them… as he did more then once, but for all intents and purposes, the tests where supposedly going on elsewhere, with more up-to-date equipment ( Not actually the truth… most the other test subjects where dead or with severe mental damage from overflow of electricity).

It wasn’t until he was about 11 that it started to come back to haunt him, having gone through his school with flying colors, his parents couldn’t be anymore proud. However, out of the blue, the corporation contacted his parents again and said they’d like to have him come in for one more test. So for a reason he was never told, he was pulled out of school that day and brought back to the facility, a bit wary for reasons he couldn’t quite understand. Still, the man was nice, and he came into the back, there wasn’t anything in particular that set his mind off...

That is, until Master Controller came busting in through the back door, for no reason to him. In reality, he’d been (GAAHHH, Writer’s block. Finishing later)

Kk. Sounds good. May I ask what the JLA is?

LOL. Justice League of America...

*smirk*

Well, since this is, after all, Jeffverse Mk Something-or-other...and seeing as how even actual DC continuity is being rewritten on the newstand this very month...I think the more appropriate questions fall more along the line of the following:
  • Who is your world's current JLA?
    What is the team's background/origin?
What other superhero (or villain) teams do you envision as being established?
You implied that Dick Grayson was never Robin. Did the Teen Titans form as before? Who started them off? Since you're giving Cyborg and Superboy new origins, what does this mean for the organizational make-up of the various teams they were founding members of? the ones they were just regular members of?
Are there any original teams and/or organizations that you will be using that the other players--if not the other characters--should be aware of? What about ones from "canon"? (eg, S.H.A.D.E., the Challengers, Blackhawks, whatever govt group Mr Bones was head of--I always forget)

I'm sure I'll come up with more as I think about joining. I'm not sure I'll be bringing Gar this time, though.

Whoever you bring will be epic :). As for your questions, I was kind of leaving it open to give people more freedom for their backgrounds. As for the Teen Titans, they never formed with that name. Basically, instead of going to New York and starting the Titans, Nightwing starts the Gotham Knights, but some of the characters that become Titans in other realities become Knights in this one. And Damian Wayne is Nightwing in this world, because, since Bruce had a son in this reality, he was out with his son instead of going to Haly's Circus the night the Graysons died. Thus, Bruce never met Dick, who thus never became Robin.

As for the JLA, we'll say it first formed during World War II as the Justice Society of America, but when it became involved during the Vietnam War, it caused tension between the team members and the JSA was disbanded in 1972. Nearly forty years later, it was recreated as the Justice League of America by Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, etc. So, the JLA was reformed in 2011, and has been around for about ten years in its current state. Recently, it has joined forces with superhero groups of other countries under the over-arching banner of Justice League International. But that means it is controlled by politics and has to answer to the United Nations for its actions, which is what leads Nightwing to start the Gotham Knights.

Wow - I'm surprised I remembered my login details...

Hmm -Methinks (After looking at the past TT style threads) that I should really just choose 1 character and stick with it lol.

I think i'll go with Red Arrow, as I seem to use him a lot and it's sounds fun.

I wanna come back as Ben (and get to post more than twice) baring that I'll make up some clown theme guy, something like a good male harley.

Your Ben character was pretty cool before, so yeah, that's fine. And to everyone, I want you to know that other superhero-like characters from other continuities are fine, so long as they fit into this world well. For now I'll just focus on Nightwing, Cyborg, and Superboy, but eventually some of my characters will die or leave and then I will probably bring in an altered version of Harry Dresden, as well as his enemies.

Oooh. I think I will throw in Bane as one of their baddies, but my version will have him kind of like the Hulk, hehehe. Normal Venom is an advanced version of steroids sotospeak, but then he creates Emerald Venom in the form of a green powder that he sniffs and then he gets a headache, is overcome with rage, his eyes glow green, his muscles start to bulge out, and his skin and hair become green as well.

Also, feel free to make your own villains or choose existing ones or whatever. Cyborg and Superboy start out as villains, but then they become heroes. Other than them, I will play the version of Bane mentioned above, Lex Luthor, Joker, R'as al Ghul, an altered, ninja version of Deathstroke, an altered version of Brainiac, an altered version of Darkseid, Harry Dresden's enemies once I bring him in, and various custom characters created for each arc. Now, keep in mind, I am not playing all these baddies at once -- a few may be present for this arc or that, but the only time I would play them all at once would be if we had like some huge superhero war arc later on or something.

I have a few threads of thought as to who I might like to use under your continuity and background, but--and I know this might seem like a minor point, but this *is* SRP, after all--how does the cast list look as far as female characters go?

Maybe it's the superhero genre, but a number of these stories failed, IMHO, because of a lack of enough potential hook-ups for the various male characters.

Heck, I'd volunteer to take on a second character who was female, although I've noticed in the past that that isn't done all that often around these threads.

Well, Princess claimed Starfire, but maybe we can get her to take on a second char. Crystal showed interest, and while I don't really know this person, I'm assuming she's female based on the name. I showed the link to Shuu and Reiha, but haven't heard back from them. I haven't heard from Tears in ages, so not sure if I will be able to recruit her. Kuu used to be a great addition to these games, but she declined the last time I invited her.

As for men playing as women, some can deal with it, but a lot of guys hate the idea of writing sexually to another guy, unless they're bi or gay, haha.
