Another typical dark night in the city of Gotham - but, up towards the rooftops, high above the smog-filled streets below, where the sounds of the steadily quieting night traffic echoed upwards... things were just beginning.
A flash of movement - and a figure darted across a ledge, seeming unworried about the long drop that lay below her, coming to an abrupt halt in the shadows besides a large window.
She hugged against the wall as the beam of a flashlight cut through the darkness within - a security guard doing his rounds of the building, the Gotham Museum of Art and Antiquities.
Her target lay within the room at which she was poised herself now to enter - the Tigers Eye, an emerald the size of her fist.
The security system had already been disarmed, thanks to a grudgingly agreed associates 'help'. Now all she needed was a little luck, and a lot of nerve. And, in the case of this - far from common - thief, she had nine lives worth of each...
