Tattoo that is. My wife got it for me as an early Birthday present.

Got my nickname on my arm, a Cat. (Okay so it's a Black Panther/Big Cat) No big deal. No pain really. It felt more like a mild electric shock than anything else. Kind of burned when he was filling it in but that's it. Felt like I had rubbed against a brick wall or a Palm Tree for a bit but now I can't even feel it. The most annoying/irritating part of it was the medical tape he used to keep the dressing on. He ran it under my arm and through the armpit. (I removed that as soon as I got home and retaped the gauze. Pulled out a bit of the old armpit hairs in the process.)

The gauze comes off tomorrow and it should be healed within a couple of days. When it's healed I'll snap a pic and post it.

The guy who did the work is an old hand, he's been doing it for over thirty years. He had some funny and interesting stories about people getting Tats. His and my favorite was the one about the woman who got rings, almost like target rings around her pussy. She said it was so her husband could always score a bulls eye.

NOw just remember to put the ointment goop on it so it heals correctly.

Ummmmm, you do remember what field I'm in? (Not to mention I'm the one who heals like there is no injury?)

The scary part is my wife is looking at getting a stylized butterfly on the back of her shoulder. She doesn't do pain well. This could be amusing.

i know, i know... i've just seen so many that would have been absolutely gorgeous be ruined because people didn't keep ointment on them. It's a pet peeve.

The only ointment he gave me or even thought to tell me about was A&D. (Like I don't have enough of that around. Great stuff for rug burns. :D )

Treating it myself with a triple Anti-biotic as well as A&D.

Should be ready to show, knowing me, within a couple of days.

I used Vaseline intensive care Total Moisture. still do on all my tats.
I can't wait to see yours Cat.
BTW if the wife really is pain sensitive, have her take tylenol (not Motrin) before her tattoo. about fifteen minutes prior. It really does help.

Aww, poor thing. :(
The only tattoo that's ever really bothered me was my wedding ring - the sides of the thumb are a bitch. And I've got all my fingers plus both sides of my neck done...

LOLOL It wont bother me any, but she want's it on the back of her shoulder. Funniest part is she's talking about a couple of more piercings as well. I get the feeling she want's the pain for some strange reason.

Good idea, although she does have nearly a full bottle of Vicodin standing on the counter.

Hehe...piercing is easier, it's over quickly and the rush is better than any drug. Ever. :)

I'll tell her that.

If the artist can tell the person is on any kind of drug, he/she is legally required to no tdo the tat. (not that they all listen.) Motrin and alcohol thin the blood and make the tattoo harder to give and a whole hell of a lot messier. give her the vicodan only if she be normal on it.

Back of the shoulder isn't that bad. It didn't make me break out in a cold sweat or hit nerves that made my leg jolt out of nowhere the way the one on my chest did.

I'll give it to her after the tat, to calm her ass down. (Give her one Vic. and she's like me after half a botle of Tequila. Makes for a fun night.)

I had a friend who wasn't thinking and got one of her tats after taking ibuprofen for a headache. Bled like a stuck pig.

Good thing to know, I'll pass that on to her.

That's not to say it didn't hurt, of course ;) But then, I have really sensitive skin and seem to be the opposite of most people when it comes to tattoos as well. "The outline is the worst part" my ass! That was cake compared to the each increasingly painful layer of color. *shuddering at the memory*

I have two tats on my back, one on each shoulder. Neither of them hurt as much as my ankle, but let me just tell you they did hurt. My skin is uber- crazy sensitive and I was biting my knuckle by the end of the this one I got two or three weeks ago. The one around my ankle actually hurt bad enough that my leg was spasming on its own and the artst actually strapped my leg down.

Funniest part, the outline didn't bother me at all. (Except when he started, that made me jump. Like a 110 line to my shoulder.) When he was doing the filling in it burned a bit, from his going over the same area more and more. Not as bad as breaking a bone but I could feel it.

You aren't. When I had my husband put the lotion on the most recent one, I cried b/c it burned so much. I am weak:D
