For those wondering what a "dragontail" is....

Are you familiar with a "rat-tail"? That ubiquitous high school locker room weapon of choice, made by grabbing the corners of a towel, twirling it up tight, then snapping it like a whip?

Well a dragontail is made on the same concept, but it is made from suede, with a permanently attached handle so you don't have to re-wind it after every couple of flicks. And yes, you can leave marks or draw blood with one.

Rebecca, you have the right photo, wrong instrument. The two items you are refering to (second [black & tan] and third [all black] from the left) are quirts. The dragon tail is the long, lovely red item with the black handle, on the back row. To give you a sense of scale, the tail is approximately 36" in length, the handle is almost 8", giving it an overall length of 44". By comparison, the two pairs of floggers on the right end have falls of 19" and 19.5" respectivley.
