and spent some of it on the Game Boy Advance for my son.

What're you going to spend yours on?

Put it in my daughter's account for her education. She is getting close to having five figures and is close to being three.

Markov

that's a very good way to spend it!

Fortunately for my son, his college education is already secured.
:)

My daughter's godmother has planned for her to study in Beijing. I am not a smart man, but I have a feeling that it will be expensive, so I am squirelling (sp?) everything I can, even my loose change goes into a jar for her and then into savings, then rolled into cd's, and eventually, when I am more confident in the long-term outlook for the markets into some aggressive growth funds. Less than two decades is not a lot of time.

But then again, at one time, I thought a decade and a half was forever.

Do you think President Bush will be pissed at us for not spending it?

I am actually credit card debt free for the first time in 13 years.

I plan on staying that way for several years to come too.

Yes, credit cards bad.
Savings good.
More Americans would be millionaires (believe me, I know) if they were more patient, more frugal, and willing to put off many purchases until they can pay cash and shop for the best deal.
Buying quality helps too! Spend more up front.
But why am I lecturing?
Well actually had a good cash day and just saved myself several thousand dollars on a purchase. Just by being patient.

Good luck staying debt free!

Okay, first I thought you were female with that old "Jenny" name. Now I'm surprised you are young enough to have a two year old daughter! Can I ask how old you are? I would have guessed late 40's or 50's. I don't know why, but that's the age you seem to me. Of course, you could still have a 2 year old at that age...

I already spent mine.. I finally had a thousand saved and -zip-
I'm again waiting for my paycheque so I can pay bills. I know it's a piffle to most everyone else but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

The Japenese believe that your peak is when you are 42. I am one year one that downside, which is why I beat the young men in combat.

She is a Holt child from FuZhou, China.
My spouse and I believe in giving those discarded Chinese girls a fair chance in life, so rather than calling our Conrgesmen [people] and Senators (forgive me, I am very drunk) to do something about it, me the Indian, be sterile like a mule, from a childhood desease, decided to give the American dream to one who could not have one of her own...

Good. I was afraid you'd shatter my image of you yet again by saying you were a wet-behind-the-ear 24 year old, or something like that. ;)

Oh my god that was quick!
That is what is so intimidating about this board after my workout in the evenings. Everything happens so quick and I am not a quick person. It is so hard to type with hands that have fewer knuckles than fingers and a mind with fewer brain cells than intentions.

Ah, that explains the college location comment. Your daughter is a very lucky little girl!

That's what they kept telling me in China.
You know there that you can put your baby in someone's arms, a stranger, turn your back, and know she will be safe?

All the same, they mean to have Taiwan back.

Is that a general comment about every day people on the street or a comment on the trustworthiness of adoptions in China?

The Government considers anyone who makes 25,000$/year or more to be a millionaire. Why? Because...
25,000$ X 40 years = 1,000,000$

Sounds better than it really is, doesn't it?

My check will go to house repairs, credit card payments, and the general funding pool. And a bit of anonymous charity that I can't get a tax break on. Oh well. What goes around then comes around, right?

Where would you get an idea like that? Site a source if you're going to post something as wacky as Todd.

It is a testimony to the love of the Chinese for families and babies in the face of the realities and government edicts..

That is not very clear is it?

I trust my baby in China more than in America.

Is that sad or what?

im may...
