10/15/2012 -- Indiana regulates polling strictly, so we've been starved for information here. The best guess is that Mourdock is ahead, but that it is still a close race.

It was an opportunist and sanctimonious answer. Condescending too. As for my kind, I could not vote for either Romney or Obama. I do profess that Obama has been a disappointing president. I won't be unhappy if he loses but I don't suspect he will.

After the debate, Mourdock further explained his comment.

"Are you trying to suggest somehow that God preordained rape, no I don't think that," said Mourdock, according to The Associated Press. "Anyone who would suggest that is just sick and twisted. No, that's not even close to what I said."

If you serve in 1034, Light Infantry and Weapons, of the USMC you are issued a bayonet and work with it frequently. What's to explain beyond the fact that the bayonet remains, to this day, an integral part of close order combat training in the Marine Corps.
