Like him or not, the host of the top rated cable news opinion program succeeded in getting the GOP presidential hopefuls to answer very relevant and important questions about their views on US involvement in Ukraine.

Most noteworthy was Governor DeSantis statements in response to Tucker Carlson’s questions because at this point, he is the leading challenger to Trump. All the major corporate media outlets covered Carlson’s report. Kudos to Carlson for getting these 2024 GOP candidates and would-be candidates on record on one of the most pressing topics and the day, and kudos to the corporate media followers for picking it up.

Carlson, like all media pundits, is trolling for content and chasing the low hanging fruit.

No one who is running for President should be responding to the type of questions being presented in this context. Who in their right mind would think it's a good idea to be on the record saying something today so that someone like Carlson could point a finger tomorrow and say "but, but you SAID...!" after the facts and circumstances have changed?

Carlson has a very large audience. That’s why politicians flock to his program. To get their message out. Nearly all the major corporate media outlets - NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, etc. have amplified the story. GOP candidates not named Trump who are seeking the nomination got extensive coverage following those interviews. Especially DeSantis.

DeSantis has not announced that he's running for President. That someone believes he is, isn't based on facts.

Someone in DeSantis' shoes who might be considering a run for President would be better served to not respond to questions of this type. Mostly because they only exist so the answer can be used against the candidate at a later time. There are ways to get publicity without putting yourself into that position.

He has not announced yet but anybody who has been watching his moves knows it is a safe bet he’s running.

True, but it's still just an assumption and not fact or based on facts. Which only serves to support my position that DeSantis would be better off avoiding this type of question so that it doesn't come back to bite his ass later if the situation changes.
